Bucs’ Tom Brady Vs Cowboys’
Patrick Mahomes
Dak Prescott Will Face Off
Named No. 1 Player
Thursday Night, September 9
In NFL Top 100 List
Tom Brady and Dak Prescott will face off to open this NFL season on Thursday night, September 9 at 8:20 p.m.
The Dallas Cowboys are championship hopefuls, trav- eling to Tampa Bay to see how they measure up against the defending Super Bowl champs. Prescott will test out his healed ankle and shoulder while Brady will embark on yet another at- tempt at having the best sea- son of his career.
The marquee matchup will dominate most Week 1 NFL discussions leading up to the event. The Get Up crew zeroed in on the Prescott v. Brady matchup in particular and debated the season's out- look for both quarterbacks. Domonique Foxworth used this opportunity to go on record with a hot take fea- turing questionable statisti- cal backing: Dak Prescott will outperform Tom Brady in 2021. We will see.
Foxworth's analytical evidence is that Prescott outperformed Brady in the

After back-to-back No. 4 rankings in the NFL Top 100 list, Kansas City Chiefs quar- terback Patrick Mahomes rises to claim the top spot ahead of the 2021 season.
The list is a collective ranking of the 100 best play- ers in the NFL heading into each season.
Rams defensive tackle Aaron Donald was No. 2 on the list, followed by Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers, Titans running back Derrick Henry and then Kelce.
Mahomes, who enters this year as the MVP favorite, is coming off a campaign in which he threw for 4,740 yards and 38 touchdowns. He also tossed just six intercep- tions and dealt with a makeshift offensive line for a great deal of 2020. At just 25 years old, his best football is still ahead of him.
PATRICK MAHOMES AND TRAVIS KELCE
Joining Mahomes in the NFL Top 100 are fellow Chiefs in safety Tyrann Mathieu (58th), defensive lineman Chris Jones (34th), wide re- ceiver Tyreek Hill (15th) and tight end Travis Kelce (fifth). The Chiefs' talent at the top of their roster cer- tainly managed to shine through in the league-wide list. Mahomes recently spoke about Jones and Mathieu making the cut.
five games he played in 2020 and in all of 2019. The latter is certainly correct; Prescott threw for 30 touchdowns and 11 picks with 4,902 yards vs. Brady's 24 TD, 8 INT, 4,057 yard output in his final sea- son as a Patriot. In the first four games of 2020, Prescott was cooking while throwing for 1,690 yards and nine touchdowns with three picks while Brady got off to a slow start with only 1,122 yards passing but managed 11 touchdowns to four inter- ceptions. Foxworth points out Prescott's QBR was bet-
ter than Brady's in that 2020 stretch, too. All this is proof that Prescott will out- perform the 44 year-old with a fully healthy season in a loaded Cowboys offense. We will see if Prescott outper- form Brady. But, who cares about numbers, Brady brought home the champi- onship.
Mac Jones’ Jerseys Sell Out Almost Immediately Following Cam Newton Release
MAC JONES
The New England Patriots released Cam Newton on Tuesday, which means Mac Jones has officially been named the team’s starting quarterback.
Fans in Foxboro made it clear that they have been wait- ing for this moment.
Jones’ No. 10 jersey sold out at the Patriots’ official Pro Shop within hours of Newton being released, according to ESPN’s Mike Reiss.
The jersey is still available at the team’s online Pro Shop, but there is a note that it is a “special event item” that is not guaranteed to ship before Oct. 8.
Deshuan Watson Not
Expected To Be Traded
Before Season
The Houston Texans have engaged with teams in trade talks centered on Deshaun Watson, but it does not sound like a deal will come to- gether before the start of the regular season.
The Texans are not ex- pected to trade Watson be- fore Tuesday’s 4 p.m. EST deadline for teams to cut their rosters down to 53 players. That likely means Watson will remain on Houston’s ros- ter in Week 1 and potentially beyond.
Even with Watson facing sexual assault allegations from multiple women, the Texans have not backed down from their high asking price. They want at least three first- round picks and then some for the Pro Bowl quarterback. Interested teams have report- edly asked for pick protec- tions because of Watson’s

legal situation, but Houston probably does not want to get into that.
The Texans are prepared to keep Watson on their ros- ter but make him a healthy scratch every week, which would allow him to collect his roughly $10 million salary. They could then explore trad- ing him again next offseason, at which point there might be more clarity with his off-field issues.
