Argument Ends With One Man Shot, Another Arrested
  Accused Of Taking
$6,000 From Patient
A 47-year-old Tampa man was arrested and charged after he allegedly shot another man early Fri- day morning. The shooting took place in the 900 block of Poinsettia Avenue.
According to the Tampa Police Department, officers were sent to the location in reference to a shooting. When they arrived, they dis- covered that a man had been shot in the torso. The victim was transported to a local hospital, where he was treated and later released.
During the investigation, police learned that the vic- tim had become involved in an altercation with Ben- jamin Franklin Sims, Jr., while outside the front door of a residence.

Police are currently searching for a man who broke into the Brandon Town Center Friday.
He reportedly removed merchandise from several businesses in the food court.
Acc0rding to the Hills- borough County Sheriff’s Of- fice, shortly before midnight Friday, an unidentified Black man forced entry into the Brandon Mall through an exterior door. Once in- side, he walked directly to the food court. He then en- tered several stores, taking an undisclosed amount of cash.
He is described as being 5’10” to 6’ tall, weighing be- tween 160 and 170 pounds, and was last seen wearing a yellow hoodie with the word “daydreamer” written in black across the front.

Police said all of the indi-
viduals involved in the inci- dent know each other. Detectives also said Sims and the victim had previous arguments and Sims had made threats of violence.
Sims was charged with two counts of attempted pre- meditated murder, aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, aggravated battery with a deadly weapon, armed burglary of a dwelling, and carrying a con- cealed firearm. He was arrested and transported to the Hillsborough County Jail.
 A 26-year-old woman was arrested and is facing several charges. She is accused of taking a patient’s checkbook and writing $6,000 in checks.
Ms. Stephanie Pepper
was a Certified Nursing As- sistant at an Assisted Living Facility in Brandon. She was arrested on Friday.
According to the Hillsbor- ough County Sheriff’s Office, Ms. Pepper was employed at 851 W. Lumsden Road. Po- lice said on November 5th, Ms. Pepper took the check- book of the 82-year-patient she was assigned to care for. She then wrote a check to herself in the amount of $6,000.
Ms. Pepper deposited the check into her bank ac- count on November 21st, which alerted a relative of the

victim. Detectives located Ms. Pepper and she report- edly admitted to the crime during an interview.
She was charged with for- gery, uttering a forged instru- ment and theft from a person over the age of 65. She was transported to the Hillsbor- ough Couny Jail.

Broke Into Several Mall Being Sought

  Carjacking Caper
One man has been ar- rested and two others are being sought in connection with a carjacking. The inci- dent took place about 9:30 a.m., Friday.
According to the Hillsbor- ough County Sheriff’s Office, the victim was at N. Thatcher Avenue and W. Nome Street. The victim told police that a 4-door pick-up truck was fol- lowing his 2006 Mitsubishi Lancer. A man driving the truck reportedly attacked the victim and a man in the back- seat of the truck, later identi- fied as Anthony Andrade, 24, entered the victim’s car and drove away. A woman was the passenger in the pick-up truck.
The victim’s phone was in the car and police were able to track it via GPS. The stolen vehicle was recovered at the intersection of W. Hillsbor- ough Avenue and Elliott Drive. Andrade was still driving the vehicle and was taken into custody.

Detectives said the man driving the pick-up truck is believed to be Hispanic, in his mid 20s, with long brown hair in a ponytail. The woman is believed to be white in her late 20s or early 30s with blonde hair and other colors mixed into it.
The pick-up truck they were driving is described as a lifted gray Ford F250 or F350 with black deadlock wheels.
