MOTHER MAGGIE RUTH HORDGE
Mother Maggie Ruth Hordge passed away Wednes- day, December 19, 2018. Fu- neral services will be conducted Saturday, Decem- ber 29, at 11 a. m., at Greater Mount Moriah Primitive Bap- tist Church, 1225 N. Nebraska Ave., Dr. B. R. Fulton, Jr., Pas- tor, with Elder Alonza Gamble officiating. Interment will fol- low in Rest Haven Memorial Park Cemetery.
Mother Hordge was a na- tive of Plains, GA, where she received her early education. She was converted at an early age and became a member of Antioch Baptist Church, Plains, GA. She and her hus- band, Brother L. B. Hordge, moved to Tampa in 1939. She worked in various capacities and retired under Dr. and Mrs. Roderwald and Mr. and Mrs. Litschgi of Tampa.
In 1979, Mother Hordge and her husband, Brother L. B. Hordge became founders of Mount Vernon Primitive Bap- tist Church, located at 1719 Green Street, Tampa, FL. She was a faithful member of Mount Vernon Primitive Bap- tist Church until her death on December 19, 2018. Mother Hordge served on the Mother’s Board, was an Usher, served as

Mr. Barner was preceded in death by: his father, Arthur Lee Barner; and mother, Louise Glass Barner.
He is survived by: his wife, Tabbetha Barner; children, Ter- rence Green of Americus GA, Tameka, Desiree and Kendall Barner, all of Tampa; sisters, Emma Carroll of Houston Texas, Bernice and husband, Emanuel Akibih of Houston, Janice and husband, James Crews, and San- dra Davis; all of Tampa; Gloria Smith, Gainesville, Florida, Ruby and husband, Ronnie Lark; brothers, Lawrence Barner of Tampa, Albert Barner and wife, Jean of Tallahassee, Florida, Kenneth Glass, and wife, Gina, Edward Glass and wife, Barbara; father-in-law, Steve Hammond; and other sorrowing relatives and friends.
Mr. Arthur Lewis Barner was born on March 3, 1952 in Ameri- cus, Georgia to the parentage of Arthur Lee Barner and Louise Glass Barner.
There will be a viewing on Fri- day, December 28, 2018 from 5 – 8 p. m. at Wilson Funeral Home, 3000 N. 29th Street, Tampa, Florida.
Friends are asked to assemble at the church at approximately 1:45 p. m. Saturday for the serv- ice.

Mother Maggie Hordge leaves fond memories in the heart of: her sons, Minister Larry Bruce Hordge, Sr. and wife, Patricia and Calvin Eugene Hordge, Sr. and wife, Shirley; grandsons, Larry B. Hordge, Jr., Calvin E. Hordge, Jr., and wife, Dulcey, and Herbert Hordge; granddaughters, Theresa Mar- tin and husband, Dean, Dr. Eliz- abeth Hordge-Freeman and husband, McArthur, Jenifer Hordge, Tiffany Frierson and husband, Alan, Tonya Graham and husband Timothy, Christina Hordge, Jeanette Hordge-Smith and husband, Dr. Jamar, Sr.; great grandchildren, Essence and Gabrielle Miller, Anaj Mar- tin, Sonia and Lauryn Hordge, Andrey Tyrone Anderson, Shawntay Hordge, Jacquez and Saniya Frierson, Derryck Dailey, Jr., Ciara Hordge, Nathaniel and Janelle Freeman, and Jamar Smith, Jr.; great-great grand- children, Joel Elias Bamberger and Zacchaeus Hordge and a host of other nieces, nephews, and cousins. The remains will repose after 5 p. m. and the family will receive friends from 6 p. m. to 7 p.m. Friday, December 28, at Ray Williams Funeral Home, 301 N. Howard Avenue.

MRS. BLANCHE J. ROBERTS-NEALY
Mrs. Blanche J. Roberts- Nealy of Tampa passed away Sun- day, December 23, 2018. Funeral services will be conducted Satur- day, December 29 at 11 a. m. at Friendly Missionary Baptist Church, 2012 Tampania Avenue, with Reverend Johnnie Miller, Pastor, officiating. Interment will follow in Rest Haven Memorial Park Cemetery.
Mrs. Blanche J. Roberts- Nealy was a native of Quincy, Florida and a resident of Tampa for many years. She was educated by the public schools of Quincy, Florida and retired from the School District of Hillsborough County.
She was preceded in death by: her parents, English Watson, Everage Richardson and Vera Richardson.
She leaves to cherish her memories: loving husband, Jerry G. Nealy; two loving and caring daughters, Travetta D. Roberts and Karissa A. Roberts; grand- children, Teandra Roberts, Tani- qua Roberts, Amariell Brooks, and Romemyo Harmon; great- grands, Paige Jackson, Jamier Pringle and Ja’Mylah Pringle; two sisters, Linda Brown, (Lynn) and Pamela Richardson; four brothers, Alonzo Richardson (Debra), Everage Richardson, Jr. (Sherri), Quentin Richardson (Patrice) and Terell Richardson; special memories with her close friends, Evelyn Jones, Gloria Hutchins, Lauretta McClendon and Queen; and a host of loving nieces and nephews she loved dearly.

MRS. MARY KATHERINE ROSS UPSHAW
Mrs. Mary Katherine Ross Up- shaw of Tampa passed away, Thursday, December 20, 2018. Funeral services will be con- ducted Wednesday, January 2, at 6 p. m. at Ray Williams Memorial Chapel, 301 N. Howard Avenue with Dr. Henry J. Lyons, officiat- ing. Visitation for family and friends will be held one hour prior to service time (5 p. m.) at the fu- neral home chapel.
Mrs. Upshaw will also have a funeral service held on, Saturday, January 5, at 12 Noon at Mount Olive Baptist Church, 12466 High- way 95 North, Abbeville, AL 36310. The visitation in Alabama will be held Friday, January 4 at Clayton Memorial Funeral Home, 24 S. Keen St., Clayton, AL 36016. Interment will be in St. Paul Mis- sionary Baptist Church Cemetery, Clayton, Alabama.
Mrs. Mary Katherine Ross Up- shaw was a native of Clayton, Ala- bama and a resident of Tampa for over 50 years. She studied and earned her higher education from Hillsborough Community College, where she majored in Mass Com- munications. Mrs. Upshaw was a recipient of several certifications and awards from her employer and various community organiza- tions. She was honored with a spe- cial recognition certificate of achievement for “Outstanding Work in the Category of Fine Arts.” Mrs. Upshaw was a mem- ber of Christian Fellowship Com- munity Church and retired as a Reservationist from Delta Air- lines.
Mary leaves to cherish her memory and was the proud par- ents of her loving children: son, Tommy Upshaw, Jr. and daugh- ter, Jacquelyn Upshaw Hines (Michael I); she is also the proud grandmother of Shawana Up- shaw, Michael Hines, II, Mylo Hines and Mario Hines; and great grandmother of her precious, great grandson, Michael Hines, III. She also leaves to cherish her memory, the father of her chil- dren, Tommy Upshaw, Sr.; and a host of cousins, other relatives, neighbors, many friends and loved ones.
