During the past year, we have experienced many events. Some were pleasant, some were sad, and some were life-altering. As we re- flect over the past 12 months, the Sentinel asked its read- ers if they had the power to change anything, what would that be?
They responded with the following comments.
Mrs. Bonnye Crews said, “2018 was pretty event- ful, but if I could change one thing, the electoral "blue wave" would have swept Florida and we would
be triumphantly celebrating the election of our first African American governor. Next time.”
Mrs. Carolyn Collins
said, “If I could change one thing that took place this year, it would be the saving of LIVES. In May and No- vember of 2018, I had two (2) uncles departing this world for their heavenly home to be with the Lord.
“Those deaths were sig- nificant to me because it was the transition for three un- cles, the third, Uncle Charles Ellington in De- cember 2017, all of which were very special to me and
my family in a twelve (12) months period. If I could change one thing in 2018, I would have kept my two un- cles alive and well; Uncle Henry H. Hepburn in SC, the last of my dad's siblings and Uncle Isaac R. Lester Jr., my mother's youngest brother.”
Danny Green said, “I wouldn't change anything in the past year. It was a very sad year with the passing of my sister. I'm so blessed with other family members still living. Thanks the Lord for family and friends with their health.
“That's why you should
love your family and friends you never know if it’s going to be their last year. I can't complain it was a great year for me to travel around the world.”
Rev. Karen Jackson Sims said, “I wouldn’t change a thing from 2018. God has been so good to us each and every day and we are thankful.”
Ross Anderson said, “I would not have allowed my stress level to get so high that Ihadtogoseeadoctorand take time off. As an educator that cares about ALL stu- dents, I allowed myself to stress out over things that
were out of my control.
“We were all young once and made some bad deci- sions so the new generation
had to do the same.”
Dr. Samuel Wright
said, “I would have changed the results of the gubernato- rial election here in the State of Florida!”
