Organization To Host
10,000 Gifts Distributed At Raymond James Before Christmas
Several community partners, led by the Elder Automotive Group, distributed 10,000 gifts 2 days before Christmas.
Hundreds of families converged on Raymond James Stadium where the gifts were distributed on December 23rd.

  Financial Literacy

On Saturday, January 13th, residents are invited to attend a Financial Literacy Workshop. The workshop will take place at the NFL YET Center, 3310 E. Lake Av- enue, beginning at 9 a.m.
This is the 4th Annual MLK Day of Service Finan- cial Literacy Workshop. Sev- eral organizations are joining the East Tampa Business and Civic Association to sponsor the event.
Ms. Dianne Hart, CEO of the East Tampa Business & Civic Association said, “This event is free and open to anyone in the community who would like to gain a bet- ter understanding of their personal finances. It is inter- generational.
“This year, our guest speaker will be Dr. Vonda- lyn Crawford, PharmD, of Health Matters Pharmacy. Dr. Crawford will explain how medications work and we are encouraging everyone to bring their medications with them.”

“We will focus on Finan- cial Literacy and explain why it is better to have a bank ac- count than to patronize check-cashing facilities,” she said.
During the workshop, residents of all ages will be able to benefit from the in- formation available. In addi- tion to the information, each person attending will receive a bag of groceries and cloth- ing will be available as well.
Those planning to attend the Financial Literacy Work- shop are asked to pre-regis- ter as soon as possible.
