  Officers Pulled their Guns
On Him In His Own Home
DJ Khaled, Justin Bieber, Chance the Rap- per and Quavo have reunited for a late-entry Song of the Summer contender, “No Brainer.” The foursome previ- ously worked together on the Number One single “I’m the One.”
The lighthearted video opens with DJ Khaled yelling his catchphrases from a director’s chair. Bieber sings the chorus on a green screen set sur- rounded by palm trees and a Hollywood-sign that says “WE THE BEST.” The camera pans to Quavo in a mansion where he is painting a portrait of a woman who stands in the cen- ter of the room wearing a luxu- rious outfit. Chance has the second verse, and he teeters be- tween the same set as Bieber and a Gatsby-esque party scene. Bieber closes out the song with a verse that features
"Mission Impossible" actor Ving Rhames says California police officers pulled a gun on him in his own home after a neighbor called 911 to report a "large black man" breaking in.
Rhames, who recalled the incident Friday on The Clay Cane Show on Sirius XM, said he was in his Santa Monica house in basketball shorts when responding officers, guns drawn, confronted him.
"I open the door [and] there's a red dot pointed at my face from a 9 mm, and they say, 'Put up your hands!' he said during the interview.
The harrowing experience, which happened two years ago, was set in motion after one of Rhames' neighbors called po- lice because, Rhames and po- lice said, they noticed a large African American man entering the home and thought it was a burglary in progress.
The confrontation ended only after one of the responding officers recognized Rhames -- not from his roles in movies, but because their sons com- peted in a basketball league.
Officers also escorted Rhames to his neighbor's home to introduce him.
Still, the actor wanted an- swers.
"Why are you doing this?" he said he asked the officers. "They said, 'A woman called 911 and said a large black man was breaking into the house.'"
Santa Monica police on Sat- urday confirmed that the inci- dent happened on July 29, 2016, just before 2 p.m. local time. Sgt. Saul Rodriguez said the department received two calls about an African- American man entering a home from neighbors who didn't think he lived there.
After officers responded, Rodiguez said they deesca-

lated the situation.
The department, however,
could not confirm if the re- sponding police officers pulled their guns on Rhames. Still, Rodriguez added that home burglaries calls can easily turn violent, so it would not be un- common for officers to draw their weapons for a potential burglary.
But the "Pulp Fiction" actor says the outcome could have been worse.
"My problem is ... what if it was my son, and he had a video game remote or something, and you thought it was a gun? Just like ... Trayvon has a bag of Skittles," Rhames said, refer- ring to Travyon Martin, the teenager who was killed by a neighborhood patrol watchman in Florida in 2012.
The Santa Monica Police Department said, because of that incident and others like it, it began a program in January 2017 called "Meet Your Neigh- bors," in which it encourages residents "step out of their comfort zone and get to know the people on their block."
him rap-singing at the party with Chance.
“No Brainer” will be fea- tured on DJ Khaled’s upcom- ing album Father of Asahd. In an interview with Zane Lowe for Beats 1, Khaled confirmed that there will be 11 songs for his 11th album. “I’ve recorded more than 11 songs but I’m only picking 11,” he told Lowe, not-
ing that his last album had 23 songs in honor of his son Asahd Khaled, who was born on October 23rd.
“Basically, if I can’t get what I want and get a sound and pro- duce the vibe I want, then it got to stick to it, until I get it right. I’m not trying just to turn the album in. I want to make this the album.”
Bobby Brown Denies Ever Abusing Whitney Houston: 'The Public Record Is Wrong'
Bobby Brown is crying fake news.
While taking questions at the Beverly Hilton Hotel—the same hotel where his ex- wife Whitney Houston died over six years ago—Brown denied ever physically abusing the late singer, despite several documented incidents of do- mestic violence. He disputed the claims Friday during a TCA summer press tour for his new BET miniseries The Bobby Brown Story. After ex- pressing his regret over some his life choices, Brown was asked if he also regretted ever hitting Houston.
“There was no violent inci- dents between me and Whit- ney so, no,” the 49-year-old told a reporter, according to Vulture. When the journal-

ist noted that Houston’s 911 calls were on public record, Brown replied: “No there wasn't [any calls]. You’re mis- taken. You're completely wrong. You're completely wrong.”
Another reporter read from
an article with transcripts of Houston calling 911 on Brown, who responded with, “The public record is wrong.”
The intense moment oc- curred just a day after Brown announced his intention to build a domestic violence shelter in memory of his daughter Bobbi Kristina, who died three years ago.
Brown’s denial has raised questions about the veracity of his upcoming miniseries, which he claims will clear up the misconceptions about his character. “I think the bad boy image came from me being onstage, not from me being a human being,” he said during the panel. “You see me in per- son, meet me somewhere, you won’t call me a bad guy. You’ll call me Bobby.”

awareness area.”
She continued, showing
that her sense of humor is still intact. “So many people are suf-
fering, hurting, hopeless, lost and don’t see a way out but there is. Depression sucks, but my faith in God and my commit- ment to doing the work to stay well is my way out! You have to do the work even when you’re tired and feel the heaviness. Take one step at a time! Don’t overwhelm yourself. If you can just get up out the bed and brush your teeth and shower.....DO IT. For people dealing with depres- sion, that is a HUGE step! Now don’t be depressed AND stinky.....pick a struggle! (y’all know I had to add some humor).”
