Chad 'Ochocinco' Johnson Buys Fiancee’ Sharelle Rosado $200,000 Mercedes Maybach
The Hillsborough County Board of County Commission- ers passed projects at Wednes- day’s meeting (June 16, 2021) to start preparing for the es- tablishment of an African American Art Museum and Cultural Center.
On April 21, 2021, Com- missioner Gwen Myers re- quested a Status Report on the African American Museum and Cultural Center to be brought back to a June regular BOCC meeting. The Board re- ceived a report from Govern- ment Relations and Strategic Services Receive a status re- port regarding an African American Art Museum and Cultural Center for Hillsbor- ough County.

The Board voted 7-0 to ac- cept the report and 7-0 to start preparing for the museum. Each of the Board members
shared comments in support of the project.
“I am extremely pleased about the commissioners’ sup- port on this African American project. They all see the impor- tance of the African American story being told in Hillsbor- ough County.
Information on the mu- seum was requested 3 years ago, but somehow went dor- mant. It was on May 16, 2018, the BOCC directed staff to pur- sue recommendations for the establishment of an African American Art Museum.
The community had an African American Art Museum some years ago under the leadership of Dr. Is- rael (Ike) Tribble.
