A 40-year-old man learned on Monday that he will spend the remainder of his life in prison. Last Friday, a jury found him guilty of the charges filed against him.
The incident that led to the death of the man began on December 5, 2019, when Robert Beausejour, Jr., of Brandon, reportedly shot 37- year-old Jeffrey Negron in a jealous rage.
Beausejour reportedly went to the Negron’s home, looked in a window, and saw the victim and his ex-girl- friend in bed together. Beausejour, became en- raged, began trying to kick in the door of the home.
Negron called 9-1-1 and told the dispatcher that Beausejour had been yelling and challenging him to come outside and was now trying to break into the home. The ex- girlfriend went to hide in the bedroom while the victim went to check the security of the door.
Beausejour was able to break into the home and shot the victim once, killing him. Beausejour then grabbed his ex-girlfriend’s cell phone and tried to force her to come with him. He was unable to make her leave and fled the scene. Police located Beausejour and arrested him.
The Hillsborough County State Attorney’s Office said in the weeks leading up to mur- der, Beausejour had made several threats to the victim through text messages. Beausejour was angry be- cause the victim was dating

Beausejour’s ex-girlfriend. Beausejour made a specific statement that he “had one for” the victim—referring to a bullet.
He was convicted of pre- meditated first-degree mur- der with a firearm and armed burglary of a dwelling with as- sault or battery.
Judge Samantha Ward sentenced Beausejour to life in prison for the charge of murder, as well as 50 years in prison for the burglary charge. The sentences will be served concurrently.
State Attorney Andrew Warren said, “This outcome delivers justice for this victim, his family, and our commu- nity. While we know this sen- tence can’t bring back the person they loved, they and the public can rest assured that the man who murdered him will be facing the conse- quences, inside a prison cell, for the rest of his life.”
Assistant State Attorneys Lindsey Hodges and Megan Newcomb prose- cuted the case.

A pickup truck was travel- ing eastbound on the Selmon Expressway in the inside lane near Milepost 11.
The second vehicle was traveling eastbound in the outside lane. For unknown reason, the pickup truck en- tered the outside lane causing the front right of the truck to collided with the left rear of second vehicle. The impact re- sulted in both vehicles rotat- ing to final rest along the outside shoulder of the road- way.
The driver of the second vehicle, an unidentified man, suffered fatal injuries. He died at the scene of the crash. The passenger, a 33-year-old woman from Brandon, was injured. She was transported to a local hospital in critical condition.
The driver of the pickup truck, later identified as Miguel Matias Usher, of Seffner, fled the scene on foot. He was injured in the accident and had a laceration to his forehead.
On Sunday afternoon, Usher surrendered to the Florida Highway Patrol. He was arrested and charged with leaving the scene of an accident involving a death and leaving the scene of an ac- cident involving serious bod- ily injury.
Usher was transported to the Hillsborough County Jail.
