BY MONIQUE STAMPS Sentinel Staff Writer
The Hillsborough County School Board has approved a financial recovery package that must be submitted to the state by beleaguered Super- intendent Addison Davis by May 12, 2021.
Twenty four million dol- lars in federal monies from the COVID relief package will be used to replenish a re- serve fund required by the state.
The county school board

had faced a potential takeover from the state. Without this influx of cash, the three percent reserve re- quirement could not be met. Further, the district was under threat of receivership if the reserve fell to two per- cent.
According to sources, Davis has promised to work with teachers and principals on how to make the best use of the money.
The vote was 6 to 1 with board member Jessica Vaughn dissenting.
