Michael Jordan Game-Worn North Carolina Tar Heels Jersey Sells For $1.38M
MICHAEL JORDAN
The only known Michael Jordan game-worn North Carolina Tar Heels basketball jersey sold for $1.38 million Saturday with Heritage Auc- tions.
The jersey was photo- matched to the 1982-83 sea- son, when Jordan won NCAA Player of the Year from The Sporting News, and is the same jersey he wore on the cover of the magazine when he won the award.
The sale broke the previous record for a Jordan jersey, also set by Heritage in October, when a game-worn Chicago Bulls Jordan jersey from the 1986-87 season sold for $480,000.
Jalen Rose Gets Emotional Honoring His Mom On Mother’s Day On NBA Countdown
JALEN ROSE
Jeanne Rose may not be as well-known as her son, for- mer NBA star and current ESPN personality Jalen Rose. But if you know any Jalens (or Jaylens or Jay- lyns) in your life, they have her to thank for it. Jalen’s success at Michigan led to a boom in other parents naming their kids Jalen, which these days feels like a pretty com- mon first name. Jeanne chose the name Jalen as an amalga- mation of his father James (NBA player Jimmie Walker) and uncle Leonard.
Beyond that fun fact, Jalen and Jeanne’s strong relation- ship has been well-docu- mented, as was her battle with cancer in recent years. Jeanne passed away earlier this year on February 2, a mo- ment that so many of his col- leagues at ESPN honored at the time.

Westbrook snagged a re- bound in the fourth quarter of his Wizards’ 125-124 loss to the Atlanta Hawks to give him his 182nd triple-double. He topped Robertson’s previ- ous record of 181 career triple- doubles.
Monday’s triple-double was Westbrook’s 36th of the year. Westbrook finished
Police Brutality Incident
NBA player Sterling Brown is finally receiving some justice.
The City of Milwaukee ap- proved a $750,000 settle- ment for Brown who was tased in 2018 by police after double parking. CBS News reports the Common Council unanimously passed the mo- tion 14-0.
On January 26, 2018, Brown was approached by an officer for illegally parking across two handicap spots stationed outside of a local Walgreens. That’s when sev- eral more officers arrived on the scene. Brown along with the officers then engaged in a tussle. Footage of the inci- dent showed officers tackle Brown to the ground and tase him. Brown was ar- rested, however he wasn’t charged. He ended up suing the City of Milwaukee later

Pelicans' David Griffin Fined $50,000 By NBA
New Orleans Pelicans Ex- ecutive Vice President of Bas- ketball Operations David Griffin just became a little lighter in the wallet. On Sun- day, the NBA announced that Griffin has been fined $50,000forpubliccriticismof the officiating along with com- ments deemed detrimental to the league.
The fine stems from com- ments that Griffin made May 7 regarding the way that Peli- cans All-Star forward Zion Williamson is treated by ref- erees. Williamson is side- lined indefinitely with a fractured left ring finger, and
Griffin blamed the injury on the way he is of- ficiated.
"I'm really frustrated be- cause this was avoidable," Griffin said.

Dez Bryant Salty About Tim Tebow Getting Signed By Jags
Dez Bryant is salty about Tim Tebow getting signed by the Jacksonville Jaguars.
Bryant tweeted on Mon- day night to express his sur- prise about Tebow’s deal. He couldn’t believe that Tebow could get signed nine years after last playing in the NFL and said “you got to be kid- ding me.”
Bryant spent some time out of the NFL after being cut by the Dallas Cowboys. He missed the entire 2018 season due to an Achilles’ tendon in- jury and declined to play in 2019. Then he signed with the Baltimore Ravens late last season and played in six games for them.
Bryant is currently a free

agent and had aspirations in March of signing, but that hasn’t happened. It likely bothers him that Tebow is getting a shot, while he is not.
Bryant then sent a fol- lowup tweet where he turned the situation into a matter of race, which has become com- mon for him. He used the Tebow signing as an example for why black people need to stick together.
