MR. MARCUS ELKINS
A Homegoing Celebration for Mr. Marcus Elkins, who passed away on March 14, 2020, will be held on Saturday, May 15th at 10 a. m. at Watermark Church, 6608 N. Central Ave., Rev. Michael Neely, pastor, officiating.
Marcus Elkins was born July 7, 1964 in Warren, Ohio; his par- ents are Robert Patterson, and Carolyn.
He was preceded in death by: his father and older brother, Winfred Patterson.
He is survived by: his wife, LaShaunn; sons, Justin, and Aiden; daughters Mia, Taylor, and Tiffany (Harold); mother: Carolyn; siblings: Mario (Alicia), Greg (Chris), Charles (Becky), Randy (Sheree), Ralph (Shaunette), Jennifer (Loring), Theresa and Jackie; aunts: Anita Caldwell and Geraldine Craig; uncle: Cleo Elkins, Jr.; honorary brother: Earl (John); goddaugh- ter: Maya Thomas and a host of surrogate children, nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends.
He attended elementary, middle, and high school in Trum- ball County, graduating from Warren G. Harding High School in 1982. He continued his formal education at the University of Cincinnati, Allegheny College and Findlay College before being drafted to play professional foot- ball in the Canadian Football League. After 10 years of playing professional football, he re- turned to Ohio and worked in various industries (Juvenile Jus- tice, sales, and retail) for several years before deciding to relocate to Florida.
After moving to Florida, Mar- cus worked in sales before tran- sitioning to management. While working in retail management, he decided to confess his sins and turn his life over to Christ. This journey started with him being an usher in his church, then be- coming an armor bearer to the pastor. After participating in a Ministers-in-Training Program, Marcus decided to heed the voice of God and answer his call to the ministry. Answering his call led him to New Millennium Commu- nity Church, where he served as an associate minister.
Marcus enjoyed playing all sports – baseball, basketball, football, softball, golf and be- came an avid bowler in his adult years. In lieu of flowers, the fam- ily asks that donations be made to: Life Path Hospice, 4200 W. Cypress St., Suite 690, Tampa, FL 33607 or at www.chapter- shealth.org.

MR. MACK EVANS, JR. (“BUD”)
A Homegoing Celebration for Mr. Mack E. Evans, “Bud,” of Tampa, Florida, who passed away on Monday, April 26, 2021, will be held on Saturday, May 15th, 11 a. m., at Unity AME Church in Seffner, Florida, with eulogist, Rev. Patricia A. Mosley, officiating. The interment will be held in Unity AME Church Ceme- tery in Seffner, Florida.
Mack E. Evans, Jr. was born in Seffner, FL on July 5, 1943 to the parents of Mack and Emma Evans, Sr. He was educated in Tampa, Florida, and a member of Unity AME Church in Seffner, Florida. In his younger years, he traveled to many states season- ally to do farm work. He partici- pated in local civil rights movements in the 60’s. In partic- ular, the Woolworth sit-in in Tampa, FL.
He was a self-taught me- chanic, carpenter, and coached little league football. He was af- fectionately known as “Bud” by his close relatives and friends. He loved his family, fishing, sports, western movies, and old school music. He was employed by Unijax delivery company until he retired.
He was preceded in death by: his parents, wives, Mildred Bran- ton and Mildred Carter; grand- daughter, Katrina Sanders; and sister, Rose Jackson.
He has 5 loving sons, Rheugene Branton (wife) Gloria, Tony Sanders (Mervat), Michael “Icckey” Sanders (Linda), Homer Sanders (Teresa) and Curtis Evans; other sorrowing relatives, 11 grandchildren, Michael Wash- ington, Curtis Thompson-Evans, Shontel Branton, Carmelo Bran- ton, Ashley Sanders, Briana Evans, Bryan Evans, Charles Lawrence, Jr., Shamoyia Lawrence, Gabriella Perez, Dar- ius Sanders Rian Evans and 6 great-grandchildren; 3 sisters, Annie Grace, Stella Neal and Linda Hagins (Eugene); 2 broth- ers, Gettis D. Hendry, Jr. (Char- lotte) and Nathaniel Hendry; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
The visitation will be held at Aikens Funeral Home on Friday, May14th from4to8p.m.The family and friends are asked to meet at the church on Saturday for the service. We are following the CDC guidelines.

MRS. LUCY FUTCH
A Homegoing Celebration for Mrs. Lucy Futch of Tampa, Florida, who passed away on Tuesday, April 25, 2021, will be held on Tuesday, May 18th, at Aikens Funeral Home Chapel, 2708 E. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Blvd., with Rev. Dr. Bessie Mo- head, pastor of Hood Temple AME Zion Church, officiating. The interment will be held in Rest Haven Memorial Park Cemetery.
Mrs. Futch was a native Floridian, residing in Tampa for 98 years. She attended the public schools of Hillsborough County, graduating from Middleton Sen- ior High School, Tampa, Florida, and furthered her education at Bethune-Cookman College, where she had the honor of being presi- dent of Delta Sigma Theta Soror- ity, subsequently she was crowned Ms. Bethune- Cookman.
After graduation she taught school in Hillsborough County where she retired in 1981, then decided to go back to work at two daycare facilities, St. Matthew Church Daycare and New Friend- ship Baptist Church Daycare, where she used her expertise as a classroom director. She was a loyal member of Hood Temple A.M.E. Zion Church, using her voice to sing the Lord’s praises also, holding positions as a Dea- coness, Steward emeritus, former president of Tampa District Mis- sionary Society, and former pres- ident of W.H.O. Mission.
Lucy Futch married Felton D. Futch in 1941. From their union, they became proud parents of two sons and raised them in rever- ence to God.
Lucy Futch was preceded in death by: her husband of 68 years, Felton D. Futch; her par- ents, Owen and Corrine Alexan- der; brother, Charles Alexander; and sister, Frederica Clark.
She leaves to cherish her memories: sons, Felton D. Futch, Jr. and Ronald Futch; grand- daughter, Charese Lee (Regi- nald); grandson, Edward Wilson; great-granddaughter, Zaria Wil- son; nieces, Fredericka Alexan- der, Renee’ Alexander Johnson (Darryl), Corrine Thomas, Aram- inta Alexander and Alexis Thomas; nephews, Rev. Darin Mitchell (Lynn), Kevin Alexander and Irvin Thomas, Jr.; a host of other family and friends.
The family would like to thank family and friends that supported her during her last difficult years. You will always be in our hearts and prayers.

MOTHER DORIS LOUISE GREEN HUMPHRIES
A Homegoing Celebration for Mother Doris Louise Green Humphries of Tampa, Florida, who passed away on Thursday, April 29, 2021, will be held on Thursday, May 13th, 1 p. m. at Aikens Funeral Home, 2708 E. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Blvd., Bishop Robert Lee Humphries, Jr., officiating. The interment will be held in Rest Haven Memorial Park Cemetery.
Mother Doris Louise Green Humphries was born November 13, 1950 to Henry Green and Julia Mae Butler in Tampa, Florida. She was the fourth of eight chil- dren. She grew up in Hillsbor- ough County in Tampa, Florida and graduated from Middleton High School.
She went on to college in Seattle, Washington and before she moved to Atlanta, Georgia in 1975. She began her career at Southern Bell where she retired from after twenty-five years of service. She was a faithful mem- ber of New Direction Church in Hapeville, Georgia, where she sat proudly on the Mother’s Board.
She joins in glory, father, Henry; mother, Julia; sister, Geraldine and brothers, Jeffrey and Jimmy.
Doris is survived by: her five children, Shannon Sweeney, Zer- noby White (Joshua), Phoebe Humphries-Dent (Janice), Charleston Wallace and Charles Wallace (LaShanda); brother, Gerald Green; sisters, Juanita Johnson (David), Janiece Golden and Julzell Butler; grandchil- dren, DaJanae (Davonta), Joshua, Isaac, Jorden, Stanley, Torrance, Charleston, Jr., Charles Jr., Legacy, Helena, Camille, Denali and Abrianna; great-grandchildren, Dazarea and Dakodah; nieces, nephews and cousins; New Direction fam- ily; a host of other family and friends that she shared her love of God and life with.
Doris gave selflessly and was always actively involved in her community and church, fre- quently volunteering or working with organizations such as Geor- gia Pioneers of America, Girl Scouts of America, the 1996 At- lanta Olympics, Hosea Feed the Hungry, and the Georgia-to- Georgia Foreign Exchange Pro- gram. She never hesitated to open her heart or her home to anyone and she left an impres- sion everywhere she went. Mother Humphries loved fiercely, and she praised God in everything she did. Her faith, her love, and her praise will forever be her legacy!
The visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. We are following the CDC guidelines.

MR. WILLIE NELSON, JR. (“BIG RED”)
A Homegoing Service for Mr. Willie Nelson, Jr., “Big Red,” 75 of Tampa, Florida, who passed away on May 08, 2021, service will be held graveside Saturday, May 15th 2 p. m. at Rest Haven Memorial Park, 4615 E. Hanna Ave., Rev. William Taylor, officiating. The interment will follow.
Mr. Willie Nelson, Jr. was born March 15, 1946 in Albany, Georgia to parents, Willie Nel- son, Sr. and Marshall A. Nelson. Willie Nelson, Jr. enjoyed play- ing Spades, loved watching western TV shows and was a big fan of Gun Smoke and Rifleman.
He was preceded in death by: his parents; son, Shyrone Nelson; and his brother, Theodis Nelson.
