Charmettes Of Hillsborough County To Host Cancer Survivors Luncheon
The members of the Hills- borough County Chapter of The Charmettes, Incorpo- rated will sponsor their an- nual National Signature Project, “Women Of Faith Praying For A Cure,” Cancer Survivors Luncheon, on Sat- urday, March 28, 2020, 11:30 a. m. – 1:30 p. m. The lunch- eon will be held in the Chris- tian Life Center at St. John Progressive M. B. Church, 2504 E. Chipco St. The dona- tion is $25 per person.
All cancer patients and survivors, both men and women are invited to join this celebration of life.
Ms. Barbara Wright,
President of the Senior Women of the National Bap- tist Convention of America, Inc., will be the guest speaker. Ms. Wright, her- self a survivor, stated she anxiously awaits the opportu- nity to tell her story.
Entertainment will be provided by musician, Oliver Parson, vocalist, Kayla Ember, and the Oak Park Community Center’s Dance Team. Door prizes will be given to some lucky guests.

Charmettes throughout the United States are cur- rently conducting activities similar to the one being pre- sented by the Hillsborough County Chapter. The major- ity of the funds raised from these activities will be do-

nated to the Cancer Research Center at Howard University in Washington, D. C. The Hillsborough County Chapter will also donate to the H. Lee Moffitt Cancer Research Cen- ter in Tampa.

TV Sitcom
The young ladies who were once known as Bubble Gum and Candy (Angela Duane and Valencia Yolanda) are at it again.
They have written (as- sisted by Patricia Fulks) and directed a TV sitcom, and also held auditions for the actors.
The pilot is being show- cased by 24Flix and the pub- lic is invited to attend the premiere of “Daddy We’re Back.”
The premiere will be held on Saturday, March 21, 2020, 6 p. m. (doors open at 5:30 p. m.) at KLAS Events, 5618 56th Commerce Park Blvd., Tampa 33610.
