Jameis Winston Apologizes, Out For Two Weeks
Wife Of Buccaneers Star
Tampa Bay Buccaneers star quarterback Jameis Winston apologized Wednesday for inciting the in- cident that led to receiver Mike Evans' suspension and also said he had his throwing shoulder examined by ortho- pedic surgeon Dr. James Andrews.
Winston said he's not surprised that coach Dirk Koetter suggested both he and Evans should have been ejected after an altercation among Winston, Evans and Saints cornerback Marshon Lattimore. He said he was surprised that Evans wasn't ejected Sunday after hitting Lattimore in the back and instead was suspended for one

He said he expects to be fined for the incident.
"[The visit] was standard protocol. ... All the doctors are working together to come up with what they think [is best]. All I know is that for the next two weeks, I'm going to be re- habbing and getting my shoul- der to 100 percent," he said.
Mike Evans Has Suspension Upheld After Appeal
New Orleans Saints corner- back Marshon Lattimore (23) tackles Tampa Bay Buccaneers wide receiver Mike Evans (13) after a 13 yard gain.
The National Football League announced Tuesday that wide receiver Mike Evans' one-game suspension for his blindside hit on New Or- leans cornerback Marshon Lattimore has been upheld by appeals officer James Thrash.
"I want to sincerely apolo- gize for my actions during Sun- day's game," Evans said in a statement released by the team on Tuesday.
"I saw my quarterback get- ting shoved and I let my emo- tions get the better of me. My response was not appropriate and not a true indication of whoIamasaplayerandaper- son. I take pride in playing the game the right way and I real- ize it was unprofessional and hurt my team."
Evans drilled Lattimore during Sunday's game after the cornerback had turned to con- front Jameis Winston fol- lowing a push from the Tampa Bay quarterback. Evans' ac- tions set off a wild skirmish, re- sulting in a 15-yard penalty for the wideout rather than an ejection.
On Monday, Evans was suspended for one game by the NFL, and he appealed. He will sit out for the Buccaneers (2-6) in this Sunday's home game against the New York Jets (4-5) and will be eligible to return to the team's active roster on Nov. 13.

"I just want to apologize on
behalf of my teammates and Mike Evans for the incident that happened in the Saints game. That's something I can't do in the heat of the moment," he said. "My competitive na- ture [took over]. Obviously I can't come off the field and
Miko Grimes, the wife of Tampa Bay Buccaneers stand- out cornerback Brent Grimes, is no stranger to con- troversial remarks. She feuded with Miami Dolphins beat writers while her husband was with that team, and her tweets are, shall we say, colorful.
Miko Grimes, the wife of Tampa Bay cornerback Brent Grimes, made controversial statements during a Tuesday radio appearance.
She did not say where the story came from or offer any- thing in the way of sourcing to back up her claim.
“A lot of people don’t know, but the reason Derek Carr got injured is because the Raiders offensive line al- lowed him to get injured be-

cause he was against them protesting,” Grimes said.
She continued that the players had fought, and Carr insisted that his teammates must stand.
But Grimes said the fight occurred before a Monday night game, and the Raiders haven’t played a Monday game yet this season.

Former Dallas Cowboy Is Suspect In Wife’s Murder
The NFL has invited Colin Kaepernick to attend a one-on-one meeting with commissioner Roger Good- ell, a league spokesman told ESPN's Jim Trotter, but the two sides have offered con- flicting comments on whether Kaepernick has responded to the invitation.
Though the league spokesman told Trotter the NFL is waiting on a response, Kaepernick attorney Mark Geragos told ABC News they "responded immediately that Colin would be happy to at- tend." According to Geragos, the meeting fell through when the league rejected a request for a mediator to be present.
Troy Vincent, the NFL's executive vice president of football operations, texted Kaepernick on Oct. 31 to update him on the ongoing talks about social issues be- tween players and owners,
league spokesman Joe Lock- hart told Trotter on Tues- day.
At the end of the text mes- sage, Vincent extended the invitation for Kaepernick to meet with Goodell, accord- ing to Lockhart, who said the league has not heard back from the former San Fran- cisco 49ers star.
Kaepernick's attorney, Mark Geragos, disputed the notion that Kaepernick did not respond.
"We responded immedi- ately that Colin would be happy to attend," Geragos said in a statement provided to ABC News. "Because of the grievance we asked that a me- diator be present. A mediator also would ensure that the discussions were productive and confidential and not used asaPRstuntorpropbythe league. Colin's proposal was rejected."
Former Dallas Cowboys linebacker Anthony Mc- Clanahan has been arrested under suspicion of stabbing his wife to death on last Thursday morning.
According to a report by The Salt Lake Tribune, Park City, Utah police say that 28- year old Keri "KC" Mc- Clanahan was found dead in a condominium last Thursday with multiple stab wounds to her throat.
According to Mrs. Mc- Clanahan's family, there had been a history of domestic vi- olence between the couple, with Keri fleeing from An- thony multiple times since their marriage in January.
According to Mrs. Mc- Clanahan's family, her spouse had blamed his violent behavior on injuries he sus- tained while playing football.
Former NFL linebacker Anthony McClanahan is the prime suspect in his wife, Keri’s murder.
In addition to his history of domestic violence, Mc- Clanahan also was charged Friday with kidnapping one of his children from a previous relationship.
McClanahan had joined the Dallas Cowboys in the 1994 preseason after playing college football at Washington State, but was cut before the regular season.
