Rapper Meek Mill Sentenced To Prison For Probation Violation
Rapper Meek Mill was sentenced to two to four years in prison on probation viola- tions Monday by a Philadel- phia judge who said the musician had wasted several chances to clean up his act fol- lowing a 2009 gun and drug case.
The sentence rounded out a roughly decade-long back and forth between the 30-year-old musician and Common Pleas Judge Genece Brinkley that has dogged Mill's career as he had been jailed and called to court multiple times on various infractions.
It turns out there’s another reason why Judge Brinkley may have been hard on the Philadelphia rapper. In an in- terview with TMZ, the “Amen”
Meek Mill will have to serve 2-4 years in state prison in Penn- sylvania by Judge Genece Brinkley.
rapper’s lawyer, Joe Tacopina, said Brinkley re- quested that the MMG co- hort sing a re-make of Boyz II Men’s song, “On Bended Knee,” and insert her name into it.
According to Tacopina, upon hearing her request,
Meek laughed and she replied, “I’m not kidding.” After he declined, she said, “OK, suit yourself.” Report- edly, Tacopina and Brian McMonagle, another lawyer on the case, stated they are making plans to appeal the 30- year-old’s case.

Mary J. Blige Developing Music Drama For FOX About Famed Choreographer
Mary J. Blige is develop- ing a music drama at FOX which will be based on the life of creative director and cho- reographer Laurieann Gib- son.
According to multiple in- dustry reports, the project, ti- tled 8 Count, is a "music-fueled drama that fol- lows a young choreographer who, in order to redeem her damaged reputation in the cutthroat music/dance world, must invest in an up- and-coming singer, who also has one last shot at stardom."

Bobby Brown’s character in BET’s ‘The Bobby Brown Story’ will star the same actor from the hugely successful The New Edi- tion Story mini-series, Woody McClain.
Earlier this year, BET an- nounced that they would be fol- lowing up their mega-hit The New Edition Story with a Bobby Brown-centric mini- series aptly titled, The Bobby Brown Story.
Woody McClain, who por- trayed Brown in The New Edition Story, is returning in the role.
The Bobby Brown Story will pick up where the New Edition mini left off. It
will chronicle the talented but troubled singer’s exit from the popular ’80s boy band through his solo success, his affair with Janet Jackson and tabloid- fodder marriage to pop icon Whitney.
The New Edition Story was a phenomenon, attracting 29 million total viewers to the miniseries during premiere week (including premiere tele- casts and encores, across BET and Centric).
