MS. GLORIA JEAN BLACKMAN WASHINGTON
(AKA, GLO)
Homegoing services for Glo- ria Jean Blackman Washington, who passed away on December 15, 2021, will be held Saturday, January 8, 2022, at 11 a. m., at Harmon Funeral Home, 5002 N. 40th Street, Tampa, Florida 33610 with Pastor Carrie Williams, officiating.
Gloria Jean Blackman Wash- ington, aka “Glo,” was a native of Alabama. She became a Tampa resident in 1970. She received her GED from Hillsborough Adult School. Gloria was a kind, strong and amazing woman with a determination. She was always willing to help others. Her pas- sion was cooking. She was Crew Chief in the kitchen of local healthcare facilities.
Gloria was preceded in death by: her parents, Marvin and Bobbie Jean Hall Blackmon; step-father, Wesley Green; stepchild, Stephanie Washing- ton; brothers, Marvin Black- mon, aka “Rooster”, Michael Blackmon, Edith Denise Black- mon, Herschel Martin Black- mon, and Anthony Blackmon; nephew Terry Blackmon; niece Precious Tyler.
She leaves behind fond mem- ories: her husband, Nehemiah Washington, Jr; step-children, Kimberly Washington, Darrell Baldwin, and a host of grand- children; sisters, Mary Black- mon, and Marva and husband, Robert Finklea; brothers, Laderius and Anthony David- son; aunt, Barbara Henderson; uncle, Donald Hall; nieces and nephews, Katrina and Delano (Charlonda), Antonio(Pam), Loubbie (King), Loubbin (Meka) Nixon, Antwan, Ambria; a host of great nieces and great nephews, and her Juniebug; a host of cousins; devoted friends, Marnette Condry, and Diane Charles.
CDC guidelines remain in ef- fect with social distancing and facial masks required. Friends are asked to arrive at the Chapel on Saturday at 10:45 a. m.

MS. CAROLYN STRICKLAND
A Celebration of Life will be held for Ms. Carolyn Strickland on Saturday, January 8, 2022, 11 a. m. at Bethel A. M. E. Church, 5001 Cumberland Drive, Tampa, Florida 33617, Rev. R. A. Polk, Pastor. Interment will follow at Rest Haven Memorial Park.
Carolyn Strickland was born May 21, 1951, in Tampa, Florida. She was employed at Hillsbor- ough Community College as a li- brarian for 32 years, retiring in 2018. She was a faithful church member who loved her Pastor and followed him wherever he went because of his teachings.
On Saturday, December 18, 2021 she passed away peace- fully.
She was preceded in death by: her parents, Arthur Everett and Minnie Young; sister, Mar- garet Ealy; brother, Lawrence, Tyrone and Arthur Young.
She leaves to cherish and fond memories: her sons, Robert (Laurinda), Edwar, IV (Dayna) and Jason Ryan; grandchildren Alyssa, Victoria and Edward, V Ryan and Roya- sia; sisters, Deloris (Albert) An- derson and Betty Young, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Visitation will be held at In- tegrity Funeral Services, 3822 E. 7th Avenue on Friday, January 7, 2022, 6-8 p. m. Family and Friends are asked to assemble at the church on Saturday no later than 10:45 a. m.

Mr. Taeshod Andrews of Tampa, Florida was called home to be with the Lord on Wednes- day, December 27, 2021. The Celebration of Life Services will be held on Saturday, January 8, 2022, 2:00 p.m. at Northside Missionary Baptist Church, 5706 N. 40th St, Tampa, Florida 33610, Rev. Taeshod, affectionately known as “Tae Tae,” was born and raised in Tampa. He at- tended schools in the Hillsbor- ough County Public Schools System and graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School. He was employed at Sam’s Warehouse as an Order Filler.
Tae Tae was preceded in death by: his grandparents, Louise Hudson, Cora Hughes, Annie George, Woodrow George, Sr., Lizzie Johnson, and Albert Johnson; two aunts, Charlese Hughes and Owanda Hicks.

Mrs. Lindsey Desdamona Yvette Askew-Johnson, Esquire, 34, passed away Tuesday, De- cember 14, 2021, from complica- tions with lupus. The Celebration of Life Services will be held on Saturday, January 8, 2022, 11:00 a.m. at Bible-Based Fellowship Church, 4811 N. Ehrlich Road, Tampa, FL 33624, with Rev. Dr. Shaun R. A Tampa native, Lindsey was born on December 11, 1987, to Ronnie and Lucinda Askew. Lindsey graduated from Middle- ton High School in 2006, where she was the Senior Class Presi- dent and a dancerette. While in high school, she participated in several community services and youth programs including Delta- Gems, Mayor Youth Corps,
Tampa Bay Buccaneers Student Advisory Board, first runner up in the AKA’s Miss Teenage Tampa Scholarship Pageant, and the Youth Ministry of Bible- Based Fellowship Church.
After graduating from high school, Lindsey continued her education at Spelman College earning a Bachelor of Arts de- gree in Communication and a minor in Japanese.
She later earned a Master of Business Administration degree at St. Leo University, subse- quently earning a Juris Doctor degree at Stetson College of Law. She recently passed The Florida Bar examination on her first try.
She was preceded in death by: her brother, Lorrell M. Askew; grandparents, Tom and Evergreen Neal, Jr., and Maxine Davis; great grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Tom Neal, Sr.; uncle, Edward Melton; godmother, Evelyn Dupree; godfather, Howard Bell; and mother-in- law, Coretta Hairston.
