The Golden State Warriors Are Champions!
Kevin Durant Named NBA Finals MVP
Kevin Durant named the NBA Finals MVP after guiding the Golden State Warriors to victory.
The Golden State War- riors are, once again, cham- pions. They reign supreme in the NBA, and have firmly solidified their place in NBA history.
With a win against the Cleveland Cavaliers, the Warriors swept the NBA Fi- nals, securing their second consecutive title, and their third in the last four years.
The team that was the laughing stock of the league for so long is now running circles around the competi- tion. In the last two years, the Warriors are 8-1 in the

Two years ago Kevin Du- rant joined the Golden State Warriors because he wanted togrowasaplayerandasa person.
And on Friday night, he celebrated not only his sec- ond championship with the team, but his second NBA Fi- nals MVP award as well.
Following the Warriors 108-85 victory against the Cleveland Cavaliers in Game 4 to secure a sweep, Durant once again received the Bill
Russell award for excellence in the NBA Finals. And it was incredibly well deserved.
After a slow (by his stan- dards) start to the series, Du- rant dominated when the Finals moved to Cleveland. In Game 3 he had a wildly effi- cient 43 points, and in the clinching Game 4 he threw together a triple-double with 20 points, 12 rebounds, 10 as- sists, and 3 blocks. He be- came the sixth player to repeat as Finals MVP.

Kevin Love Hopes To Stay With Cavaliers
KEVIN LOVE
Kevin Love’s Cleveland Cavaliers career hasn’t always been rosy, but he doesn’t want it to end just yet.
Love said that if it’s up to him, he’d like to remain in Cleveland, though he knows the trade rumors are about to ramp up yet again.
“Anything is possible,” Love said. “People have been saying that for the past four years. I knew that question would come, but I like to be here. I’ve always said that. Al- ways wanted to win here.”
Love admitted that he’d prefer to be joined by LeBron James, but understands that’s a decision yet to be made.
“It’s something where I’m sure he will spend time with his family and when that times comes to make a decision, he will be in a good frame of mind,” Love said. “Obviously, I’d love to play with LeBron the rest of my career, but that will be a choice that he makes.”
  On Returning To
Cavaliers Next Season
Despite a disappointing end to the Cleveland Cava- liers’ playoff run, coach Ty- ronn Lue has no intention of stepping aside as the team’s head coach.
Lue said after Cleve- land’s season-ending loss to the Golden State Warriors that he planned to be back next season despite the health issues he dealt with during the year.

In Game 4 Of Sweep
The Cleveland Cavaliers went out with a whimper in Game 4 of the NBA Finals and were swept by the Golden State Warriors. It was a rough way for them to go out, especially after how close Game 1 was.
The Cavs only scored 13 points in the third quarter, began with LeBron James on the bench in the fourth, and appeared to give up. Their poor effort in the sec- ond half at home of a Finals sweep led to plenty of criti- cism.
This is the second time in his career that LeBron James has been swept in the Finals. Though some will ridicule him for that, the

LeBron James’ frustra- tion got the best of him after Game 1, resulting in an injury to his right hand.
The Cleveland Cavaliers lost to the Golden State War- riors in heartbreaking fash- ion in Game 1. Afterward, James indicated it was one of the toughest losses of his career. James was so frus- trated after the loss that he punched a board. The result was reportedly a bone contu- sion in his right hand.
After the series finally ended on Friday night,

more measured observers will recognize what an ac- complishment it was for him to take the ’07 and ’18 Cava- liers to the Finals in the first place. This team easily could have lost to the Pacers or Celtics. They were completely overmatched against Golden State.

Undecided About
Miami Heat guard Dwyane Wade isn’t sure yet about whether he’ll play a 16th NBA season.
Wade said he is still de- ciding whether or not he’ll play next year, but his prefer- ence would be to remain in Miami if he ultimately does.
