LeBron James Did Not Take Magic Johnson’s Exit Well
Floyd Mayweather
Much like the rest of the basketball world, LeBron James was stunned when Magic Johnson stepped down from his post as the Los Angeles Lakers’ president of basketball operations last month.
James opened up on the news of Johnson’s decision — which came April 9, shortly before the team’s sea- son finale against Portland — on his HBO show “The Shop,” which aired late Saturday night. James said he got the news from longtime friend Randy Mims while he was stretching for the game, and didn’t believe it until he checked his phone.
“Man, get the f–k out of my face. You bulls–ting,” James said of his initial re- action.
“Personally for me,” James added on the show, “I came here to be a part of the Lakers organization having a conversation with Magic. So it was just weird for him to be like, ‘Nah, I’m out of here.’ And not even have no like, ‘Hey, ‘Bron, kiss my ass, I’m
Over Pricey Stone

A routine jewelry shopping spree turned into high drama for Floyd Mayweather on last Thursday -- when things got heated with a store owner over a very expensive stone and cops were called.
Mayweather was shop- ping at the Diamond Club fine jewelry shop inside the Sey- bold Building when May- weather zeroed in a stone.
Sources stated a verbal al- tercation broke out between Mayweather and the shop owner -- and things got so in- tense, someone inside the shop called police.
By the time cops arrived, we're told Mayweather had already left the shop.

celebrity" ... but wouldn't get into specifics.
Unclear if cops are investi- gating or if the matter is con- sidered closed.
Remember, Mayweather spends MILLIONS of dollars at jewelry stores all over the world -- so you'd think Floyd showing up at your shop would be like hitting the lot- tery.
But, that's clearly not what happened here.

James met with John-
son at the latter’s home on July 1 last summer, minutes after the free-agent negotiat- ing period began. Not long after, he committed to joining the Lakers.
ESPN reported that James and his agent, Rich Paul, had met with John- son and Lakers general man- ager Rob Pelinka a few days before Johnson stepped down, but James said he received no hint of the upcoming resignation.
Lakers guard Lonzo Ball
said he found out about the news through James, who came into the locker room to tell teammates after finding out.
“I was like, ‘That s–t crazy,’ ” Ball said of finding out.

Boston Celtics President Basketball Operations Danny Ainge returned home yesterday after suffer- ing a mild heart attack in Mil-
waukee.
“He’s back in Boston,”
Brad Stevens said, relaying an update from Aingle’s son Austin. “Austin says he’s doing well. He slept in his own bed last night and was home and in good spirits this morning, so all signs are en- couraging.”
Ainge suffered the heart attack, his second, some time before Tuesday’s Game 2 be- tween the Celtics and Mil- waukee Bucks. The team was briefed yesterday before prac- tice, which is when most of the team first learned about it.

Shaquille O’Neal and Kenny Smith are not letting Joel Embiid off the hook for his poor Game 4 on Sunday despite an illness.
Following the Denver Nuggets’ 116-112 win in Game 4 of the Western Conference semifinals on TNT, the studio crew came on for some analy- sis. They began talking about the Philadelphia 76ers’ 101-96 loss to the Toronto Raptors in Game 4 of the Eastern Confer- ence semifinals earlier in the day. Embiid scored just 11 points in 35 minutes as he bat- tled fatigue from an illness.
Charles Barkley said Sixers coach Brett Brown
should have adjusted for the big man’s injury, especially after receiving a text message from the star early in the morning saying he was sick. Shaq and Kenny didn’t care.
“I’ve seen superstars have great sick games. Maybe he was sick, maybe he wasn’t. This ain’t the time to be sick. When you step on the court this time of year, this is where you make your fame,” Shaq said.
Kenny Smith agreed and brought up Michael Jor- dan’s flu game.
“If you’re on the floor, this is how we evaluate you: what did you do?” Smith said.
