MR. HENRY ‘FRED’ BAKER
Mr. Henry “Fred” Baker, of Tampa, FL passed away on Tues- day, November 9, 2021. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, November 27, 2021 at 3:00 p.m. at Ray Williams Memorial Chapel, 301 N. Howard Avenue, Tampa, FL, 33606, with Pastor Johnnie Miller, officiating. Interment will follow in Rest Haven Memorial Park Cemetery.
Mr. Baker was a native of Coolidge, Georgia, and a resident of Tampa for over 70 years. Fred was a Concrete Finisher for vari- ous companies. He was a member of Friendly Missionary Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by: his mother, Katie Williams; fa- ther, George Baker; sisters, Blan- dine, Blanche, Betty, and Poochie; and brothers, George, Jr., and Tommy.
He leaves to cherish his mem- ories: his loving wife, Evelyn; daughters, Tia Downey (Markus), and Luwanda English; grandchil- dren, Shakeema Downey, Markus Downey, Jr., Roche Lawton (Tay- lor), Darrell Henley (Tamika), and Jessie English, Jr.; great grand- children, D.J., Keon, Darielle, and Ariel; sisters, Gertrude, Ola, and Patricia; brother, Charzelle Baker (Sheri); sisters-in-law, Kim Bais- den, Peggy Austin, Lillian San- ford, Terri Floyd and Helenor Baker; aunt, Lula Lewis; neigh- bor, Walter Hayes (Betty); Ha- bana Nursing Home Staff, Francine and Diane; dear friends, Gloria Hutchins, Clevetta McHenry, and Marsha Roberts and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, other relatives and dear friends.
Visitation will be held one hour prior to the Funeral Service from 2:00-3:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 27, 2021 at Ray Williams Funeral Home, 301 N. Howard Avenue, Tampa, FL.

MR. JESSIE JAMES HARRIS, SR.
A Homegoing Celebration Service for Mr. Jessie James Harris, Sr., will be held on Sat- urday November 27, 2021 at 12 noon at Wilson Funeral Home, 3000 N. 29th Street, Tampa, Florida with Pastor Anthony White, officiating. Interment will be held Tuesday November 30, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. at Talla- hassee National Cemetery, 5015 Apalachee Pkwy, Tallahassee, FL.
Mr. Jessie J. Harris, Sr. was born on July 5, 1936 in Attapul- gus, Ga. to the parentage of C.L. Harris and Marie Livingston. Mr. Harris enlisted in the US Navy on September 27, 1955 and serve aboard the USS New- port News. He was a national member of the Buffalo soldiers and one of the founding mem- bers of the local charter. He was also a member of the brothers of Gavle and AMVETS.
Mr. Harris transitioned to his Heavenly home on Novem- ber 17, 2021 with his Rosa by his side.
He leaves to cherish memo- ries of him with wife, Rosa Har- ris; 5 children; 6 grandchildren; 18 great grand- children; 1 great great grand- child; 4 sisters; 2 brothers; 4 brothers-in-law; 2 sisters-in- law; 1 uncle and a host of other relatives and friends that will miss him dearly.
The visitation will be held on Friday, November 26 from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Wilson Fu- neral Home, 3000 N. 29th St. Tampa, FL 33605. MS. BETTY PARRISH
A Homegoing Celebration Service for Ms. Betty Louise Par- rish, who went to be with the Lord on November 13, 2021, will be held on Saturday November 27, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. at Wilson Funeral Home, 3000 N. 29th Street, Tampa, Florida, with Elder Willie Jones, officiating. Interment will follow at Rest Haven Memorial Park Cemetery, 4615 E Hanna Ave, Tampa, Florida.
Ms. Betty Louise Parrish was born December 22, 1954, in Lake City, Florida, to the union of Johnnie Parrish, Sr., and Pearlie Wilson. She attended public schools in Dade County and was a graduate of Miami Beach Senior High School.
Ms. Parrish later relocated to Tampa, Florida, where she worked as a Dietary Aide at Mercy Hospital and H. Lee Mof- fitt Cancer Center. She also worked as Certified Nursing As- sistant at Hanna Oaks ALF.
Ms. Parrish loved the Lord and spent time reading and studying her Bible.
She was preceded in death by: her grandson, Jonathan Minville; parents, Johnnie Parrish, Sr., and Pearlie Wilson; brothers, Johnnie Parrish, Jr., and Theodore Griffin; cousin, Tommy Lee Simons and Pearlie Mae Sim- mons.
She leaves to cherish her pre- cious memories with her daugh- ters, Lakisha Parrish and Shawanda Alhamdan; grandchil- dren, Victoria Jesper, Dejah De- freitas, Tahliyah Defreitas, Faith Peoples and Isaiah Peoples; great grandchildren, Omari Williams and Elijah Simeon; siblings, Willie Parrish, Sr., Shirley Wil- son, Jerome Parrish, Janice Minor-Parrish; god children, An- gela Newton (Reggie Newton), Christopher Halls, Latonya Weems and Brandi Hernandez; nieces and nephews, David McGee, Lasharne McGee, Tan- gela McGee, Shanika Wilson, Tonya Kilpatrick, Johnnie Givens, Alexandria Minor, Dwayne Wilson, Octavia Jacobs, Katrina Thomas, Latasha Hamil- ton, Eliza Parrish, Willie Parrish, Jr., Chester Parrish and other relatives and friends.

Ms. Diana C. Powell was born on October 12, 1957, in Tampa, Florida, to the parent- age of Freddie Powell, Sr., and Dorothy Powell.
She was a member of The City of Judah Worship Center.
She was preceded in death by: her mother, Dorothy Powell; brother, Melvin German; nephews, Antonio Powell and Neil Powell.

DR. AARON SMITH, Ph.D
Homegoing Celebration for Dr. Aaron Smith, Ph.D., will be held on Saturday, November 27th, 2021 at 8:30 a. m. at Allen Temple A. M. E. Church, 2101 Lowe Street, Tampa, Florida, Senior Pastor, Rev. Dr. Glenn B. Dames. Interment will follow at Washington Park Cemetery, 3402 34th St, Orlando, Florida.
Dr. Aaron Smith, Ph.D., known as “Pop Pop,” “Grand- dad” and “Father Love,” born June 30, 1937 in Orlando, Florida, entered into Heaven No- vember 19, 2021. Dr. Smith was a former professor at the Uni- versity of South Florida for 15 years and a former professor at Stanford University Hospital for over 20 years. He was a member of Allen Temple AME Church in Tampa and formerly of St. James AME in San Jose, CA. He was debonair, charming, charis- matic, joyful and spiritual. Al- ways lending a hand and a word of wisdom to all he would meet. Everyone who would meet him would come to love him. Every- one who came in touch with him was in the presence of sheer in- telligence and kind heartedness.
He is survived by: daughters, Angela Smith Dixon (Eddie), Cary, NC and Amy Davis (George), Waldorf, MD; grand- daughters, Bria, Lauren, Si- mone, Mia and Jordyn; grandson, Spencer; divorcee, Anna Smith; two nieces, Curley Adams, Gary, IN and Joyce An- derson Newsom, Arlington, TX; one nephew, George Henderson, New Castle, DE; a number of grand and great grandnieces and grandnephews and a host of cousins.
Dr. Smith would sing hymns and pray out loud in his later life and moments. He would gather others to improve their lives no matter what start in life they had. He was a believer in second chances and living your life for God. He held a life of servitude to others and a joy forever to his family and friends. His favorite all time saying was, ‘Blessed Be the Ties that Bind, Our hearts in kindred spirits. Amen.’ What an Angel that has now ascended to Heaven. Forever in our Hearts.
