JEFF BEZOS Amazon founder Jeff
Bezos gave the Obama Foundation a gift of $100 million, with no direction as to how the money should be spent.
The donation, first re- ported by Puck News and then announced by the Obama Foundation, is the largest in the foundation’s history and is in the honor of deceased Congressman John Lewis. Though there are no conditions attached to the donation controlling how the money will be spent, Bezos did request for the Plaza at the Obama Presi- dential Center, currently under construction and lo-

cated in Chicago, to be named the John Lewis Plaza.
“John believed in the power of ordinary people to do extraordinary things,” Michael Collins, trustee of the John R. Lewis Estate, said in the announcement. “His life was a testament to this notion and he would be a fierce advocate for the training and support needed to inspire the next genera- tion of leaders to follow in his footsteps.”
The Obama Presidential Center is estimated to cost $830 million, the Associated Press reported, and be com- pleted by 2025.

turned 79 on Nov. 20 and it didn’t go unnoticed. The politician was shown a lot of love for his special day from some of his closest friends and colleagues on social media and their messages were truly memorable. People like Vice President Kamala Harris, former President Barack Obama, and more were among the birthday wishers and we’re taking a look at ex- actly what they shared.
Vice President Kamala
Harris was one of the first to post about Joe and she in- cluded a photo of the two of them standing in the White House together while sharing a lighthearted laugh. “Wishing you a happy and joyous day, @POTUS. Happy birthday!” she wrote alongside it.
Former President Barack Obama posted a photo of him and Joe sitting outside in folding chairs while wearing suits and ties without the blazers and sharing a laugh. “Happy birthday to my friend and my brother, @POTUS! Thanks for giving all of us the gift of better in- frastructure. Grateful for all you’re doing to build this country back better,” he wrote in the caption.
