MR. SAMUEL MARION ‘CHUGALUG’ JOHNSON
A Celebration of Life for Mr. Samuel Marion Johnson (“Chugalug”), who passed away on Wednesday, February 14, 2018 at Tampa General Hospital, will be held on Saturday, March 3, 2018 at New Progress Mission- ary Baptist Church, 3307 E. Shadowlawn Ave., Tampa, Rev. C. R. Batchlor, Assistant Pastor, with Rev. Quintin Flowers offici- ating. Interment will follow at Rest Haven Memorial Park Cemetery.
Samuel was born on Novem- ber 30, 1947 in Tampa, Florida, to Roscoe and Ruby Johnson. Sam worked many jobs, includ- ing the Tampa Housing Authority and University of South Florida. He was a well-known humble man who loved his kids and dogs. He loved the game that he in- vented, called Chugalug that many people loved to play.
Samuel is preceded in death by: his parents, Roscoe and Ruby Johnson; and his longtime com- panion, Clara Thompson.
He leaves to cherish his fond memories: a devoted daughter and caretaker, Yemeka Harrison Andrews and husband, Ronnie; 2 daughters, Melissa Holmes, and Samantha Gibson of Orlando, FL; 2 sons, Samuel, Jr. and Steve Johnson, both of Tampa; 4 chil- dren whom he raised as his own, Juanita Everett, Sabrina Harri- son, Johnny Harrison, and Shonda Harrison, all of Tampa; 23 grandchildren; 1 great-grand- child; 1 brother, Claude Mc- Duffie, Sr.; nieces, Carol McDuffie, Monica Anderson, Marcia McDuffie; nephews, Claude McDuffie, Jr., Tyrone Mc- Duffie; friends, Jessie Mae Har- rison, Rick Vann, William Myrick, Donald Mason, Robert Gray, Harry Williams, Keg, Annie Patrick and Central Park Village families, along with a host of family, loved ones, and friends.
Visitation for Mr. Samuel “Chugalug” Johnson will be held Friday, March 2, 2018, from 5-8 p. m. at Integrity Funeral Serv- ices, 3822 E. 7th Ave., Tampa, FL, 33605. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m.
Family and friends are asked to meet on Saturday at approxi- mately 12:45 p. m. at the church.

MR. BURNICE LEE CARTER
A Celebration of Life for Mr. Burnice Lee Carter, who passed away on Wednesday, February 21, 2018, will be held Saturday, March 3, 2018, at Integrity Fu- neral Services, 3822 E. 7th Av- enue, Tampa, with Rev. Jerry Couzens, officiating. Interment will follow at Rest Haven Memo- rial Park Cemetery.
Burnice was born in Eufaula, Alabama on January 13, 1936, to the late Emmitt and Lena Carter. To this union he was the oldest of eight. In 1946 the Carter family relocated to Tampa, where Bur- nice attended Hillsborough County Public Schools. After graduating high school, he be- came employed for 47 years with Seaboard Coastline, which later became known as CSX Railroad. He met and married Lillar Mae Davis and to this union was born 2 children.
He was preceded in death by: his wife, Lillar Mae; and a son, Benny Lee Carter.
He leaves to cherish his fond- est memories: a loving and de- voted daughter, Regina Renee Nelson and husband Gerald; 7 grandchildren, Xiamara Carter, Gerald Nelson, Jr. (Karissa), Cedric Nelson (Amanda), Tameka Nelson (Jay), Jeremiah Nelson (Jennifer), Dashawn Nel- son (Sydney) and Tyler Nelson; 3 sisters, Carrie Frances Tyson, Ola Lott Mitchell and Nancy Brown; aunt, Orie D. Kyles (James); 4 sisters-in-law, Bar- bara Carter, Joann Lett (Hous- ton), Gwendolyn Daniels (Clifford), Rose Davis (William); 1 brother-in law, Hubert Davis; 12 great-grandchildren; god- daughter, LaThronda Jones; and a host of special loving nieces, nephews and other sorrowing relatives and friends.

MS. ELAINE JOHNSON
On February 14, 2018 God gently whispered and summoned Ms. Elaine Johnson home.
In life we loved you dearly, in death we do the same. So, he closed your weary eyelids and whispered “Peace be thine.” Then he took you up to heaven with hands so gentle and kind.
It broke our hearts to lose you, you did not go alone. For part of us went with you, the day God welcomed you Home.
Ms. Elaine Johnson was born on July 29, 1939 in Chicago, Illi- nois. She passed away February 14, 2018. Elaine moved to Tampa, Florida in her early years. She lived in Port Tampa and attended Don Thompson Vocational School.
Later she married Mr. Cephus Lorenzo Johnson and five chil- dren were added to their union. She was a member of Mt. Zion AME Church and a longtime em- ployee to Mr. and Mrs. Panella. Elaine enjoyed spending time playing pool and dominoes with her friends, known to them as “Smiley.”
She is preceded in death by: her husband, Cephus Lorenzo Johnson; and two children, Coral Loraine Banks and Keith Andre’ Johnson; and granddaughter, Cliffette Johnson.
Elaine leaves to cherish her memories: three children, Sheila E. Johnson, Lorenzo Johnson (Redina) and Valencia Weaver; six grandchildren, Carnell D. Herring, Sr. (Shameka), Jackie Ricks (Emilio), Willie J. Johnson, Kevin Thornton, Sr., Keith A. Jones, Andrea Henderson; thir- teen great grandchildren, Aneisha Johnson (Deon), LaDaisha Gary, Chan’yl Herring, Kalin Herring, Dominic Herring- Ratcliffe, Carnell D. Herring, Jr., Chynn Herring, Lacey Johnson, great grandchildren; Cniyah Smith, Cayden-Bryqui Smith, Regis Johnson and Dylan Robin- son; Mario Howard and family and a host of other family and friends.

MS. TADIAH THEONISHA TAYLOR BURNEY
Ms. Tadiah Theonisha Taylor Burney of Brandon, passed away Tuesday, February 20, 2018. Fu- neral services will be conducted Saturday, March 3, at 11 a. m. at Mount Tabor Missionary Baptist Church, 2606 W. Grace Street, with Pastor T. D. Leonard, offici- ating.
Tadiah was a native of Cheyenne, Wyoming and a resi- dent of Tampa for many years. She was educated in a number of stateside schools, and was a graduate of Bloomingdale High School, Brandon, FL, Class of 1993. Tadiah was employed by Memorial Hospital for 18 1/2 years, beginning in the Commu- nications Department and later promoted to Administrations until her illness. She was a mem- ber of Mount Tabor Missionary Baptist Church since the age of 13, where she served in the Youth Choir, Choirs #1, #2, and the Mass Choir. She was also a member of Sisters in Motion until no longer able to minister in dance.
She was preceded in death by: both her maternal and pater- nal grandparents, Deacon Arthur and Sister Victoria James and Deacon Cleophus Taylor and Sister Altamease Burney.
She leaves to cherish her memory: one son, Reginald Bur- ney (Naomi); one daughter, Chi’Anne Brackin; parents, Theodore and Mary Taylor; fi- ance, Jessie Brackin; brother, Reginald Taylor; two uncles, Davie James (Peggy) and Charles Taylor; three aunts, Floreta Hines, Carolyn Brown, and Renee Taylor; sister-in-law, Den- itra H. Taylor; a host of cousins and niece and nephews; friends to include, Teresa, Michel, Tameka, Kivonna, Arjelyia and Kawhana; and a host of other relatives and friends.
The remains will repose after 5 p. m. Friday, March 2nd, at Ray Williams Funeral Home, 301 N. Howard Avenue.

Mother Crawford was a na- tive of Orlando, FL and a resi- dent of Tampa for many years. She was a Chartered Member of New Birth M. B. Church where she served as Chairman of the Deaconess Ministry for 20 years, Sunday School Teacher, Sick/Shut-in Min- istry, Sponsor for the Youth & Children’s Christian Educa- tion Department, Pastor’s Aide Committee, Pastoral Council, Women’s Intermediate Auxil- iary (WIA), Ministry Advisor, Senior Women’s Ministry, Mother’s Board and Adult Choir.
She was preceded in death by: her parents, Tom Stuckey and Mary McAllister; husband, John Crawford; brother, John McAllister; and spiritual brother, Rev. Darryl Crawley.
