Final Wealth Management Seminar Set For Saturday

On Saturday, May 22, 2021, at 10:00am, the Tampa (FL) Chapter of The Links, Incorporated will culminate their 2021 Financial Seminar Series with its fifth zoom ses- sion, titled ‘Financial Em- powerment: Wealth Management.’ Chair and Co- chair of the National Trends
Facet, Mary Dance and Willa Peterson encourage participation for all ages to increase financial knowledge within our community.
The series is in partner- ship with Thomas Financial, a member of M Financial. In September 2019, M Financial Group partnered with The Links, Incorporated (The Links), an international non- profit that includes more
than 16,000 professional women of African ancestry.
This seminar will com- bine all the previous seminar topics in an introduction to the process of creating a com- prehensive financial plan.
According to the TIAA In- stitute, “The financial well- being of African Americans lags that of the U. S. popula- tion, and whites in particular. The reasons for this gap are complex, but one area of im- portance in addressing it is increased financial literacy.”
The final session will in- clude case studies of real-life examples that members of the community can identify with.
Some of those scenarios will include college expense planning and retirement prep for young professionals who are earning income; insur-
ance protection and asset preservation planning for mid-career professionals aged 45-55 years old; and professionals aged 60-65 years old who are approach- ing or entering retirement. This seminar will include re- tirement distribution, estate, and generational planning examples.
