  Police Identify Driver In Fatal Hit And Run Accident
 Tampa police have identified the driver and a person of interest in a fatal hit and run accident. The accident took place Saturday afternoon in the 4000 block of West Hillsborough Avenue.
According to police, officers were sent to the lo- cation in reference to an accident. When they ar- rived, they discovered 80-year-old Felix De La Uz, of Tampa, dead at the scene. Witnesses told police that a vehicle was heading west on Hillsbor- ough Avenue when, for unknown reasons, left the roadway. The vehicle, described as a white Honda Civic, hit a sign, an electrical box, and then struck Mr. De La Uz.
Witnesses told police that Mr. De La Uz had pushed his wife, Mrs. Narda Vazquez Ruiz, 69, out of the way, protecting her, but sacrificing him- self.
The witnesses said the vehicle came to a stop about 500 feet after the crash and both occupants fled on foot.
Police have identified the driver as 31-year-old Tracy Evereth Wood. He is known to frequent the Seffner and Town and Country areas of Hills- borough County. There is an active warrant for his arrest for hit and run involving a death.

The passenger has been identified as Ms. Mariam Marti-Benning, 43, of Tampa. She is being called a person of interest and detectives would like to speak to her.
