Wizards To Acquire Trevor Ariza In 3-Team Trade
TREVOR ARIZA
The Washington Wizards, Memphis Grizzlies and Phoenix Suns made a 3-way trade that would send Trevor Ariza to Washington.
On Friday night that Ariza would go to the Wiz- ards, while Phoenix would get Austin Rivers, MarShon Brooks and Wayne Selden as part of the deal. Washington would send Kelly Oubre to Memphis.
A trade of Ariza has been anticipated all week. He signed with Phoenix for $15M in the offseason but has not played well for them, and multiple teams were said to be inter- ested in acquiring him.
Rivers is making $12.65M this season and will be a free agent after the year. Oubre is making $3.2M this season and set to make $4.4M next season with his qualifying offer. He is still on his rookie contract. Oubre is averaging 13 points and 4.4 rebounds per game.

Stephen Curry has led the Warriors in scoring in four of their last six games, averaging a team-best 29.2 points per contest over that span. And yet, as much as Curry is starring on the court for the reigning champs these days, he also continues to do so away from it.
Prior to a game in Atlanta at the beginning of the month, Curry made a dis- abled fan's day. On Sunday, he did the same for the youth at Covenant House in Oak- land.
As part of the Warriors' "Season of Giving" campaign, Curry surprised 40 youth at Covenant House in Oakland, which provides sanctuary and support for youth ages
18-24 facing homelessness and human trafficking.
Those present were un- aware of Curry's involve- ment until he arrived to surprise them. In addition to spending several hours with the people of Covenant House, Curry also provided each of them with a new pair of Curry 5's (his signature shoe) and a catered meal from his wife Ayesha's restaurant, International Smoke.
"These are obviously good reminders of how blessed we aretobeabletodowhatwe get to do," Curry said after- wards. "To put a smile on people's faces just by walking in the room, I'll never take that for granted."
Josh Johnson On First NFL Win: 'It Was Just A Relief'
Former Tampa Bay Buc and Washington Redskins quarterback Josh Johnson made his first start since 2011 on Sunday, and he made the most of it.
The journeyman signal- caller earned his first career NFL win in the team's 16-13 victory over the Jacksonville Jaguars. Johnson didn't have the greatest of games -- he completed 16 of 25 passes for a modest 151 yards and a touchdown -- but it was enough for him to reflect on the long road his career has taken.
"I've always had belief in myself that I can do things like this, but, I've never been one to talk about it because talking does nothing," John-
JOSH JOHNSON
son said after the game. "... Just to have it go our way and be able to just have every- thing that has been building up in me for years and finally let it out, it was a relief. Hon- estly, it was. It was just a re- lief."
For a guy who's been part
of 13 NFL teams and ap- peared in 32 games since 2009, Johnson didn't think he'd ever guide a team to vic- tory. When Dustin Hop- kins kicked the winning field goal Sunday, Johnson dropped to his knees in cele- bration.
