   Allen Temple AME Church To Host Annual Conference

Allen Temple African Methodist Episcopal Church will host the 79th Session of the West Coast Annual Confer- ence of the 11th Episcopal Dis- trict of the AME Church.
According to the Senior Pastor, Rev. Dr. Glenn B. Dames, Jr., of Allen Temple, Tampa’s own Bishop Adam J. Richardson, Jr., will be the conference presider, along with his wife, Supervisor Con- nie Speights Richardson.
Bishop Richardson is a former Drum Major and grad- uate of Middleton High School and former Drum Major and graduate of Florida A&M Uni- versity.
He is the Resident Bishop of Florida, and Senior Bishop of the AME Church.
Parade To Honor Bishop Richardson
The Pre-Conference activ- ities begin on Sunday, October 20, 2019. Bishop Richard- son will serve as the Grand Marshal for a Parade in his honor. The Parade kicks off at 4 p. m. on Palm Ave. (near the church), traveling down Nuc- cio, 15th St. and ending on Lowe St. (at the church).
Rev. Dr. Dames, Jr., is excited about the marching bands that will be represented in the Parade to honor Bishop Richardson: Edward Waters College, Spoto High Marching Band, and Middleton High School.
Also in the Parade will be: Churches of the West Coast Conference, sororities, frater- nities and civic organizations.
The 79th Session officially opens at 8 a. m. on Tuesday, October 22, 2019. Services each day and night are open to
the public.

moves on to another Confer- ence,” Rev. Dr. Dames said. Bishop Richardson has served the 11th Episcopal Dis-
trict for 8 years.
