Jameca Williams noticed that women were going to so many different places for serv- ices, it became a tiring and costly experience. She, along with her partner, Sharon Clark, decided to open a salon with all of the services under one roof. Out of their partnership came Hair Fren- Zee Salon and Spa.
Ms. Clark said she started out in the hair care industry, but left and worked for a med- ical supply company.
“As a young child, I grew up in a hair salon, learning and loving to do hair. Because of family responsibility, I ven- tured away from the industry and into health care for over 18 years. Now I’m back to what I love and following my dreams.”
Ms. Williams is the youngest of seven children who grew up watching her sis- ter do hair.
“That engraved in me the desire to pursue hair care and eventually, I enrolled at Erwin Tech to perfect my skills.”
Ms. Clark said their loca- tion at 648 Oakfield Drive in Brandon isn’t getting them the attention they seek, but they have plans on making their shop stand out, and become a one-stop location.
“We offer many different

services, and we’re one of the few to have a Spa. We’re multi-cultural and by bringing all of the services under one roof, we think that gets us above the competition.”
Among the services offered by Hair Fren-Zee is the ability for their clients to book online and decide their own sched- ule.
“Normally, our hours are 11 a. m. to 6 p.m., and we’re open on Sundays by appointment, and we don’t turn away walk- ins.
“We are dedicated to pro- viding a memorable experi- ence for each guest through exceptional service, and tech- nical excellence. We have a very professional team who is talented and continuously ed- ucated. We take pride in pro-

viding a comfortable and nat- ural salon experience.”
Ms. Clark and Ms. Williams credit their staff with helping them provide quality service. Their staff members are Coco, who re- cently relocated from Michi- gan and has more than 20 years experience in the indus- try; Kat, who is passionate about the latest teen and young adult hair styles from long to short extensions; Mal- isa, who is ready to unleash her talent; Roz, who recently relocated from South Carolina and is a member of Weave X- Perts International, and Verinica, who as a teenager, found her love for braiding, and 10 years later she consid- ers herself the queen of braids and natural hair care.

After the Hillsborough County Board of County Com- missioners voted no on a pro- posed half-cent tax for transportation, talks began about a city-only transporta- tion referendum.
Mayor Bob Buckhorn
has gone on record saying it’s always been his wish for the Florida Legislature to give Tampa a chance to propose its own transportation sales tax referendum.
Councilman Frank Red- dick said there have been dis- cussions but he feels the legislators in Tallahassee will never support it.
“I’m against this because too many tax burdens have been placed on our citizens already. Stormwater fees and utility fees keep getting higher, but the wages for the working class isn’t going anywhere.
“If an alternative funding source could be found, I’d look

at it. But right now, if the Tampa Rays come to Tampa, that’s a future tax people will have to look at.”
Councilman Reddick
said they will just have to hope that the County comes up with a plan.
“With Republicans in con- trol right now, I’m not expect- ing much.”
