“These are some very crit- ical times with voter sup- pression and voter election laws that are being passed all over the country. We want to be prepared for the 2022 election season.

women to run for office.” Ms. Berry explained that, the 2022 United States elections will be held on Tuesday, November 8, 2022. During this midterm election year, all 435 seats in the House of Representatives and 35 of the 100 seats in the Senate will be contested. Thirty-nine state and territo- rial gubernatorial and nu- merous other state and local elections will also be con- tested. This will be the first election affected by the redis- tricting that will follow the
2020 census.

event, The Links, are an amazing group of women. Women are the ones running the businesses, we’re moms to school-aged children and very active in the church. We just need to have some cru- cial conversations with the Supervisor to see what voter registration looks like, what
do we need to know to run successful campaigns,” she stated.
“Black women have al- ways been the backbone of this country and the change makers in the most recent elections. This is an educa- tional forum for our mem- bers to learn, ask questions and be better advocates in the community we serve.
“Our next steps are to learn and prepare on how we can best serve the commu- nity together and get our community ready to vote in the upcoming 2022 elec- tion.”

Senate Moves To End 'Spring Forward, Fall Back' Clock Changes
The US Senate advanced a bill Tuesday that would bring an end to the twice-yearly changing of clocks, in favor of a "new, per- manent standard time" that would mean brighter winter evenings.
The Sunshine Protection Act, which still needs the backing of the House of Representatives, would mean no more losing an hour in bed every spring and fewer journeys home in the dark for school children and office workers.
