‘The Passion Of Jesus Christ’ Presented By Church’s Drama Ministry

A crowd estimated at more than 300 attended the Easter pro- duction, “The Passion of Jesus Christ,” on Good Friday, April 14, 2017. The play was presented by the Drama Ministry of New Mt. Zion M. B. Church, Rev. Larry Roundtree, II, pastor. The event was held in the theater at Riverview High School, and was produced by First Lady Sameya Roundtree, who also played the role of ‘Satan.’ Sandra Valdez was the Production Assis- tant. Joan Frasier is the Drama Director. Local Drama Coach, Rory Lawrence, assisted with the production.
There were great musical performances by Mrs. Roundtree’s mother, Crysandra Scott (who also played the role of Priscilla), Fatricia Campbell, Gloria Miller, NMZ Voices of Praise and Praise Team, and Tampa Bay Young Adult Choir, with the assistance of the Music Staff: Carlton Brown, Larenz Johnson, Tory Smith, Trenell Reid and Javaris Gooding-Butts.
Others who made up the cast were: Jakare Williams – Jesus; Deacon Ronald Graham – Caiaphas; Shamira Hayes – Woman in Courtyard; Ernesto McCloud – Peter; Min. Kevin Batts – Herod; Marra Earle – Pilate’s Wife; Dea. Darius Bryant – Pilate; Dr. Derrick Saddler – Judas; Min. Eddrake Brown – Barabbas; Zoie Mulkey – Mary Magda- lene and Olivia Brown – Mary Mother of Jesus.
Also having important roles in the production were: Yama Gooding, Daquan Rhodes, Deshawn Rhodes, Larry Roundtree, III, Bryson Carter, Dea. Archie Williams, Min. Ricky Wade, Denarjae Womack, Lamar Scott, Aria Roundtree, Barbara Jones, Aryah Roundtree, Selena Smith, Makala Smith, Ronald Wardlow, Kandace Nunn- Johnson, Pat Williams, Ronneka Peacock, Tonya Smith, Kiauntae Davis, Kathy Campbell, Charlene Larry, Shae Fielder, Min.
