‘Bye Felisha’: Detroit’s QB Pick’s Mom Played Role In Movie ‘Friday’
Steve Smith Has Harsh Words About Brock Osweiler
STEVE SMITH
The fire that burned inside Steve Smith during his play- ing career has not disappeared now that he’s retired.
Smith is now an analyst for NFL Network and spewed some hot fire when talking about Brock Osweiler on Fri- day.
It started with former GM Charley Casserly saying he didn’t think the players avail- able on Day 2 of the NFL Draft were better than Osweiler. That’s when Smith interjected.
“Anybody’s better than Brock Osweiler. ... They gave him to the Goodwill, and the Goodwill’s trying to get rid of him,” Smith said.
That of course was a refer- ence to the Texans dumping Osweiler on the Browns, who are also reportedly thinking of dumping the QB.
Mike Tomlin Gets In Middle Of Steelers’ WR Twitter Exchange
MIKE TOMLIN
Mike Tomlin had to step in and separate his players after a few got into a Twitter fight on Friday night.
The Steelers selected JuJu Smith-Schuster with their second-round pick in the draft, No. 62 overall. Smith-Schus- ter is a wide receiver, meaning Pittsburgh will have extra com- petition at the spot.
The recently reinstated WR Martavis Bryant responded to the pick and said that Smith- Schuster wasn’t taking his spot on the roster. Instead, he said it was Sammie Coates who needed to watch out.
Coates responded on Twit- ter by laughing.
Then Tomlin stepped in, telling his players to play nicely. Even though you don’t want to see your players fighting on social media, Tomlin may se- cretly like their competitive at-
titudes.

At Sister's Eulogy:
'I Wanted To Give Up'
Boston Celtics coach Brad Stevens de- scribed what point guard Isaiah Thomas was dealing with as "unfathomable."
Thomas hasn't
missed a game
this postseason
despite the tragic
death of his sister,
Chyna, on April
15. Thomas flew back to Washington state on Friday night to be with his family ahead of Saturday's funeral.
"When I found out the news I wanted to give up and quit," Thomas said in the eulogy. "And never in my life have I ever thought about quitting. I realized quitting isn't an option. That's the easy way out. I will keep
Isaiah Thomas Loses Tooth After a Nasty Elbow To The Face
The Eastern Conference Semifinals could not have got- ten off to a worse start for the Boston Celtics. They fell be- hind the Wizards 16-0 and then this happened to star point guard Isaiah Thomas.
How tough is Thomas, by the way? His first reaction isn’t to roll around on the

floor in pain; instead, he just calmly picks his tooth off the ground and acts like nothing happened.
The second quarter went much better for Boston. The Celtics erased Washington’s early lead and Thomas has re-entered the game after the team doctor “re-positioned” the tooth.
The Celtics won the game 123-111 behind Thomas’ 33 points and nine assists.
Brad Kaaya's gotten the question a million times, and after the De- troit Lions took him in the sixth round of the NFL draft, he got No. 1,000,001.
So your mom was in "Friday?" What's that like?
Angela Means played Felisha as in ‘Bye Felisha’ in the movie ‘Friday’. Her son, Brad, from the University of Miami was drafted to play QB by the Detroit Lions.
"Um, I've been asked
about it a couple times,"
he said with a laugh. "But it's died down a little bit since I got to college."
the top quarterbacks taken in a weak year at the position, but instead was ninth off the board.
The Lions finally ended his slide late in the sixth round (215 overall), adding him to compete with Jake Rudock behind Matthew Stafford.
Kaaya's mother lives in Los Angeles now, but she hails from Milan in suburban Detroit. They still have a lot of family in the area, and visit often.
"Most of family on her side of the family is from the Michigan, Detroit and Milan area," Kaaya said. "I never really saw her as (a movie star). She always had kind of a blue-collar attitude, and she kind of helped instill that in me, in terms of on the football field.”
His mother is Angela Means Kaaya, an actress whose most famous role was a small but memorable turn in the cult classic "Friday." She played Felisha, the subject of the clas- sic line "Bye Felisha."
Brad's career during three seasons at the University of Miami took off when he got the starting job as a true freshman and wound up setting the school's all-time passing record as a junior (9,968 yards).
He elected to forgo his senior year and enter the NFL draft, though that decision didn't ex- actly go according to plan. Kaaya figured he'd be one of
