To Sue Fox’s ‘Empire’
Jessie Williams and his wife of 5 years, Aryn Drake-Lee.
On last Thursday, an Illi- nois federal judge refused to dismiss a proposed class ac- tion lawsuit over the way that Fox's hit drama, Empire, commandeered a detention center in the summer of 2015.
Two minors, through their legal guardians, brought a 12- count complaint in August 2016 on behalf of themselves and other similarly situated youth. They alleged that offi- cials at the Cook County Ju- venile Temporary Detention Center put the place on lock- down so it could be used to film episodes of Empire.
The plaintiffs say they were ordered into "pod" areas at the detention center and sat there for days on end, depriv- ing them of their normal school, the recreation yard, the library, the infirmary and the chapel.
During this time, their sick requests were allegedly ig- nored and their family visits were eliminated.

My World’ Documentary To
Hit Theaters This Summer
Janet Jackson Fan Suing Live Nation Over Postponed Concert Dates
Almost exactly one year ago, Chris Brown dropped the trailer for his documen- tary Welcome To My World, a film about the singer’s rise to fame and tumultuous life and career.
According to reports, the film is hitting the big screen sometime this June.
The documentary features commentary from stars such as Jamie Foxx, Jennifer Lopez, Mary J. Blige, DJ Khaled, and more giving Brown praise in new and old interviews.
His mother Joyce Hawkins also adds com- mentary on Brown’s talent,
his rise, and his fall.
Chris Brown released the trailer to his documentary via his social media page.
Brown made the June an- nouncement via another cut of the trailer posted on his IG with the caption “In theaters June.”
Janet Jackson cancelled her tour to have a baby at age 50.
Prince’s ‘Purple Rain’ To Be Reissued With 6 New Tracks
Prince in the movie ‘Purple Rain’.
A year after Janet Jackson announced she would halt her “Unbreakable World Tour” to start a family with now-es- tranged husband Wissam Al Mana, a fan has sued concert promotion company Live Na- tion seeking reimbursement.
Tiana Adams wants not only herself to be reimbursed, but for Live Nation to reim- burse all of the ticketholders to the concert.
Adams may not have a case, however, seeing that the tour is being labeled as post- poned and not cancelled.
Adams accuses Live Nation of lying about the status of the tour to avoid giving fans their money back.
This news comes on the heels of rumors that Janet may be returning to the stage later this year. Janet gave birth to a baby boy named Eissa Al Mana in January.
Jeremih Teams With Big Sean And Chris Brown In New Video

After a Minnesota judge blocked the release of Prince’s posthumous EP, it looks like fans are getting their silver lining.
On Friday, NPG and Warner Bros. Records announced Prince’s iconic “Purple Rain” will be reissued June 23 with six previously unreleased tracks. Among them are re- mastered versions of “Pos- sessed” and “Electric Intercourse,” the latter of which was just released on Spotify.
NPG and Warner said Prince had worked on remas- tering the songs himself the year before his death, accord- ing to USA Today.
The reissue, which will be available for preorder starting Friday, will also include an ex- tended edition that comes with
a full disc of B-sides and a DVD with a performance by Prince and the Revolution from 1985.
Just last week, producer and writer George Ian Boxill, who worked on new songs with Prince before his death, an- nounced the release of a six- song EP titled “Deliverance.” Prince’s estate, however, promptly filed a lawsuit against Boxill for violating a confidentiality agreement and organizing the unauthorized sale of new music. A judge granted a temporary restrain- ing order in the estate’s favor.
As of right now, the EP’s title track still appears to be avail- able for purchase if you’re in the U. S., though the pre-order option for the EP has been re- moved.
Jeremih is currently prepar- ing his Later That Night album for fans, which will release some- time this summer, and now we’re getting the visuals to his first sin- gle.
The Chicago vocalist teamed up with Chris Brown and Big Sean for his new “I Think Of You” record, and just released the music video to coincide with the up-beat track.
