49ers Have Looked Into Acquiring Josh Gordon
JOSH GORDON
The San Francisco 49ers have confirmed that they are one of the teams at least check- ing in on wide receiver Josh Gordon.
Gordon, who is finished with the Cleveland Browns, will either be traded or re- leased, and 49ers general manager John Lynch admit- ted that the team has made a phone call and is doing its due diligence on him.
Gordon is definitely a player who requires due dili- gence, as a lot of factors went into Cleveland’s decision to move on from him. Nothing sounds close to being com- pleted at this point.
If the 49ers are interested in Gordon, that interest would reportedly be mutual.
Frank Gore Passes Curtis Martin On Rushing List
FRANK GORE
Just like he's done his whole career, Miami Dolphins running back Frank Gore handed the ball to the ref and ran back to the huddle with lit- tle hoopla, even as he passed New York Jets great and fellow model of consistency Curtis Martin for fourth on the NFL's all-time rushing list in the town that Martin ran wild in.
Gore appears well on his way to eventually joining Martin (14,101 career rushing yards) in the Hall of Fame. During Sunday's game against the Jets, the Dolphins running back ripped off an 8-yard rush late in the third quarter to reach 14,102 yards.
Barry Sanders is next up at 15,269 rushing yards.
Throws For 400 Yards, 4 TDs In Win Over Eagles
Damontae Kazee was ejected from Sunday’s game for his hit to the head of Cam Newton.
During the second quarter of the game between the At- lanta Falcons and Carolina Panthers Newton scrambled a ten yard gain. At the end of the play, he gave himself up by sliding to the ground. Dur- ing his slide, Newton was hit with what many felt was a cheap shot from Kazee.
Tempers flared as mem- bers of the Panthers were upset with the hit from
Tampa Bay Buccaneers backup quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick continued to in- fuse his "Fitz-Magic" on the Buccaneers offense Sunday, throwing for 402 yards and four touchdowns to stun the Philadelphia Eagles 27-21.
That's now eight touch- down throws, plus a ninth rushing touchdown, and more than 800 passing yards the last two weeks for the 35-year- old backup quarterback step- ping in for suspended starter Jameis Winston.
Against the Eagles, Fitz- patrick tacked on two more deep touchdown passes. His four 50-plus yard touchdown throws tied him with Joe Na- math (1972) for the most through a team's first two games in NFL history, accord- ing to ESPN Stats & Informa- tion. He also became the first quarterback in Bucs history to throw four touchdowns in consecutive games, and the first to have multiple 75-yard passing touchdowns in a sin- gle game.
wide-open Chris Godwin in the end zone for an 8-yard strike and a 4-yard touch- down pass to Mike Evans in the third quarter. On the very first play from scrimmage, Fitzpatrick hit DeSean Jackson for an 85-yard touchdown pass, followed by a 75-yard catch-and-run to O.J. Howard in the second quarter. The Bucs only had two plays of 50-plus yards all last season.
Evans' touchdown catch, the 34th of his career, tied Jimmie Giles for the most touchdown catches in Bucca- neers history, a record that's stood since 1986.
The Bucs are now 2-0 for the first time since 2010, set- ting up a monster Week 3 matchup with the Pittsburgh Steelers on Monday Night Football, before Winston re- turns from his three-game suspension. Neither head coach Dirk Koetter nor gen- eral manager Jason Licht has previously committed to who will start in Week 4.

Three games as an NFL starting quarterback, and Patrick Mahomes is al- ready in the record books.
Mahomes threw six touchdown passes on Sunday as the Kansas City Chiefs out- lasted the Pittsburgh Steelers 42-37 at Heinz Field. Ma- homes has 10 scoring passes in his first three career starts, counting the final game last season and the first two this year.
That's an NFL record for the first three games of an NFL career, breaking the old mark of eight held by Mar- cus Mariota and Mark Rypien.
Mahomes threw four touchdown passes in last week's regular-season opener against the Los Angeles Chargers. He is the second NFL quarterback to throw at

least four TD passes in each of the first two games of a season.
Drew Bledsoe of the New England Patriots in 1997 is the other.
Mahomes moved the ball around well. Tight end Travis Kelce and wide re- ceivers Sammy Watkins and Tyreek Hill each had at least five catches. Kelce and Watkins each had at least 100 receiving yards.
Press Conference Swagged Out Like Conor McGregor
Bills Player Claims Cornerback Vontae Davis Retired At Halftime
Ryan Fitzpatrick was definitely feeling himself after leading the Tampa Bay Buccaneers to yet another victory.
Fitzpatrick had his sec- ond consecutive 400-yard, 4- touchdown game as he helped the Bucs blast the Philadelphia Eagles 27-21 on Sunday.
After the game, Fitz- patrick put on some of teammate DeSean Jack- son’s jewelry and attended the postgame press confer- ence looking like Conor Mc- Gregor.
The clothing and style would have looked pretty silly had the Bucs lost. But

when you’ve thrown for 402 yards and four touchdowns against the defending Super Bowl champions, you look like an absolute baller by wearing that kind of outfit.
It’s not even Halloween yet, but Fitzpatrick already has his costume down per- fectly.
Did the Buffalo Bills lose a player to retirement at half- time of Sunday’s game? That’s the allegation from one of their players.
Linebacker Lorenzo Alexander claimed after the game that cornerback Von- tae Davis not only pulled himself from the game at halftime of the Bills’ 31-20 loss to the Los Angeles Chargers, but that he retired.
Davis changed into his street clothes and left the sta- dium at halftime, backing Alexander’s version of events.
It’s safe to say this would be unprecedented. The Bills were down 28-6 at the time, so some frustrations may

well have boiled over, but this goes above and beyond mere frustration.
The 30-year-old veteran was in his first season with Buffalo, having signed in February. He seemed excited to join the team at the time, but after two awful perform- ances, maybe he was fed up.
