East Tampa Community Invited To ‘Continue
The Conversation’ On Transportation
In early July, residents of the community were up in arms about changes along the Interstate, especially the 21st – 22nd Streets exit. Several members of the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) met with the residents to dispel those misunderstanding.
The residents of East Tampa are invited to continue the transportation conversation on Tuesday, September 25, 2018, in an evening meeting, 6-8 p. m. The meeting will be held at Ragan Park, 1200 E. Lake Ave. An Open House begins at 6 p. m., followed by the presentation at 6:30 and round- table discussions, 7-8 p. m.
Tampa Bay NEXT, the Future of Transportation, is host- ing the event along with FDOT. They are asking the commu- nity for ideas to help shape transportation decisions.
The Open House before and after the presentation will in- clude information on related transportation topics and proj- ects.
The conversation will continue about the Tampa Inter- state Study (TIS) Supplemental Environmental Impact State- ment (SEIS) evaluation process and proposed improvements to the Downtown Tampa Interchange (I-274/I-4) and I-275 north of Downtown Tampa.
The Roundtable discussions with FDOT representatives will examine 4 proposed concepts for the Downtown Tampa Interchange (I-2785/I-4), and discuss how each design could impact the nearby area.
Tampa Bay Next is available to make presentations to or- ganizations or neighborhood associations. Contact Tam- paBayNext@dot.state.fl.us or call (813) 975-6398.
