LESLEY ‘LES’ MILLER, JR. ...Retiring after 24 years, 56 days, as an elected official
Comm. Miller said, “the first thing I plan to do is try to rest, especially during the holidays. It’s been a long
time since I’ve been able to just rest, or take a vacation,” he said.
“The first of the year, I plan to do some other retire- ment things, like playing golf.
“I may be retiring from this office, but I’m not going anywhere. I’ll still serve on several boards; I’ll be volun- teering in the community, and assisting other candi- dates seeking public office,” he concluded.
Comm. Miller spent 56 days as a Tampa City Coun- cilman; 14 years as a Florida politician; and 10 years as a Hillsborough County Com- missioner.
Former Hillsborough County employee (retired), Gwendolyn (Gwen) Myers was elected last week to replace Miller.
