Election Observer Says No Evidence For Trump’s Fraud Claims
Al Roker Reveals Prostate Cancer Diagnosis
Al Roker made a public rev- elation on Friday (November 6), alerting America and his TODAY Show co-workers he had been di- agnosed with prostate cancer.
The 66-year-old Roker will be undergoing surgery to have his prostate removed and explained he publicly wanted to reveal his diagnosis due to the fact 1 in 7 Black men and 1 in 9 men overall will be diagnosed with prostate cancer in their lifetime.
“It’s a good news-bad news kind of thing,” Roker said. “Good news is we caught it early. Not great news is that it’s a little aggressive, so I’m going to be tak-

ing some time off to take care of this. We’ll just wait and see, and hopefully in about two weeks, I’ll be back (on TODAY).”
The head of an international delegation monitoring the U. S. election says his team has no evidence to support President Donald Trump‘s claims about alleged fraud involving mail-in absentee ballots.
Michael Georg Link, a German lawmaker who heads an observer mission of the Or- ganization for Security and Co- operation in Europe, told German public broadcaster rbb Thursday that “on the election day itself, we couldn’t see any violations” at the U. S. polling places they visited.
Link said he was “very sur- prised” by Trump’s claims about postal ballot fraud be- cause the United States has a long history of this method of voting going back to the 19th century.
“We looked into this. We found no violations of the rules whatsoever,” Link told rbb.
He said neither U. S. elec- tion observers nor media found any evidence of fraud either, though the OSCE team on Wednesday repeated long- standing concerns about disen- franchisement of some voters and the distorting effects of campaign finance laws.
Link said there were some instances of errors being made “but no systemic interference or even manipulation with the postal ballots whatsoever.”
Trump has for weeks ar- gued that mail voting is prone to fraud. On Wednesday morn- ing, with his lead in key battle- grounds slipping, Trump claimed efforts were being made to steal his victory and prematurely declared himself the winner.
“That is something that does need to be described as break- ing a taboo,” Link said of Trump’s effort to stop the count. “He has neither the right nor the possibility to do this. Responsibility for the count lies exclusively with states.”
10 million Americans have tested positive for the coronavirus.
The United States reported its 10 millionth coronavirus case on Sunday, with the latest million added in just 10 days, as most of the country strug- gled to contain outbreaks in the third and most widespread wave of infection since the pan-

demic began.
Case reports have soared in
the last week, shattering records. The seven-day average of new cases now exceeds 100,000 per day, far more than any other country. The United States accounts for about one- fifth of all reported coronavirus cases in the world, a total that has passed 50.2 million. In Eu- rope, which accounts for as much or more of the global number, many countries have imposed restrictions far more
severe than the limits in patches of the United States.
The Florida Department of Health reported 2,539 coron- avirus infections on Sunday and 50 deaths — numbers that more closely align with recent trendlines after a surge in cases on Saturday nearly doubled those daily numbers.
In the eight months since health officials announced Florida’s first coronavirus cases on March 1, the state has at- tributed 16,168 deaths to the virus, 11th per capita in the country. In all, Florida has recorded 755,020 coronavirus infections, which means roughly one in every 27 Florida residents has tested positive for the virus.
With 29 states setting weekly case records, the virus is surg- ing at a worrisome level in more than half the country. Na- tionwide, hospitalizations have nearly doubled since mid-Sep- tember, and deaths are slowly increasing again, with few new interventions in place to stop the spiraling outbreak.
Biden Team Held COVID-19 Talks With Drugmakers Before Election
Under the Trump administra- tion, Operation Warp Speed has struck deals with several drug- makers in an effort to help speed up the search for effective treat- ments for the disease amid the global coronavirus pandemic.
The U. S. COVID-19 death toll stands at over 237,000, with more than 9.9 million cases now re- ported in the country since the outbreak began, according to a Reuters tally.
“As we previously said in Sep- tember, because President- Elect Joe Biden is absolutely committed to helping develop a safe and effective coronavirus vac- cine as soon as possible, campaign medical advisers have received briefings from companies working to produce vaccines in order to be informed about the process,” Biden’s spokesman Andrew Bates said in an emailed state- ment.
