On Thursday U. S. Dis- trict Judge James S. Moody, Jr., re-sentenced a Tampa woman to prison after it was determined an error was made during her sentencing. This was the sec- ond time Ms. Rashia Wil- son, known as “The First Lady of Tax Fraud,” stood be- fore Judge Moody. th
Last December, the 11 Court of Appeals overturned her original sentence The Court ruled Judge Moody miscalculated the amount of time Ms. Wilson would spend in prison. The Court ruling stated the procedural error occurred when the court improperly calculated the number of months Ms. Wilson would serve in prison. But, the Court al- lowed the conviction to stand.
In July 2013, Judge Moody sentenced Ms. Wil- son, to 18 months for being a felon in possession of a firearm, and 210 months (17.5 years) for wire fraud. She was also sentenced to 24 months for aggravated iden- tity theft, which will run con- secutively to the other sentence.

At the time of the indictment, federal authori- ties seized several items in- cluding a 2013 Audi A8L, valued at more than $90,000. She agreed to for- feit the car, expensive purses, a necklace with her name spelled in jewels, along with other high-end property.
Judge Moody re-sen- tenced Ms. Wilson to a total of 21 years in prison. This is the same amount of time she had received prior to her ap- peal, a spokesperson for the U. S. State Attorney’s Office, Middle District of Florida said.
