DEATH ANNOUNCEMENT

Mrs. Ardelia Dixon Brown of Tampa, was called home by the Lord on Thursday, Febru- ary 26, 2015.
She was born in Cordele, Georgia, and spent most of her life in Tampa, as a long- time resident of Northview Hills.
She was one of the first Black bus girls, promoted to waitress status at the Down- town Maas Brothers Store. Upon the store’s closing, she transferred to the Westshore Store. She retired on Febru- ary 1, 1986, from the Univer- sity Mall Store.
She was preceded in death by: her first husband, Vernes (Sheik) Dixon; second hus- band, Arto Brown; son, George V. Dixon; and daugh- ter, Carolyn Upshaw.

She will always be loved and remembered by: her daughter, Carol Y. Lawrence; grandson, Reginald J. Lawrence; a number of granddaughters and great grands; a nephew; and other relatives and friends.

Though his smile is gone forever, and his hand we cannot touch, we still have so many memoires of the one we loved so much.
His memory is our keep- sake, with which we’ll never part, God has him in His keeping and we have him in our hearts.
