Land O’ Lakes Native Chosen As ‘Officer
Recruiter And Diversity Officer
Recruiter Of The Year’
U. S. Air Force Members Complete Basic Training
Two individuals with ties to the Tampa Bay Area have completed all requirements to graduate from basic military training. Airman 1st Class Logan R. Curran and Re- serve Airman Dagnery Farramola Gari recently participated in their respective graduation ceremonies at the Joint Base San Antonio-Lack- land, in San Antonio, Texas.
Airman Curran and Airman Gari completed an intensive, eight-week program that included training in mili- tary discipline and studies, Air Force core values, physical fit- ness, and basic warfare princi- ples and skills.
They also earned four credits toward an Associate in Applied Science Degree through the Community Col- lege of the Air Force.
Airman Curran is the son of Robert D. and Mary Ellen Curran, of North Las Vegas, Nev., brother of Kayla M. Curran, of Kansas City, Mo., and grandson of Laurie Pharr, of Okeechobee, FL, and Dee Curran, of Tampa.
He graduated from Moun- tain Home High School, Mountain Home, Idaho, in 2015.
Reserve Airman Far- ramola Gari is the daughter of Yaneisy Gari and niece of Lazaro Gari, both of Tampa. She is a 2010 graduate of Leto High School.
Tampa Resident Enters Military Using Delayed Entry Program

joined the United States Air Force under the Delayed Entry Program. The program gives young men and women the opportunity to enlist and delay going into basic military training for up to one year while they complete their ed- ucations and prepare for mili- tary service.
Qualified recruits are eligi- ble to receive skills training, experience, and education benefits. After completing basic military training and graduating as new "airmen," they each receive specialized technical instruction in one of more than 140 career fields.
He will report to Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland, Texas, for basic training in Decem- ber.
Summers is the son of Lyn and Brad Summers, of Berea, Ohio. He is a 2015 graduate of Academic Evalua- tion Services, Inc, Tampa.
Florida Resident Chosen As ‘2016 Sailor Of The Year’

SAN ANTONIO – The Navy Medicine Education, Training and Logistics Command (NMETLC) recently announced the se- lection of its 2016 Sailor of the Year (SOY) .
Petty Officer 1st Class (Fleet Marine Force Special- ist) Cameron Graham is a Hospital Corps School instructor. He will represent the 26 commands, detachments and units re- sponsible for training and equipping Navy Medicine during the Navy Medicine SOY competition scheduled to be held in Wash- ington, D.C., later this year.
A Spring Hill, native, Graham served most of 2016 as a Navy Military Training Instructor (NMTI) at the Navy Medicine Train- ing Support Center at Joint Base San Antonio – Fort Sam Hous- ton (JBSA-FSH) in San Antonio, Texas.
He is now a Basic Medical Technician Corpsman Program (BMTCP) instructor for Navy Hospital Corps and Air Force medic students at the Medical Education and Training Campus (METC) at JBSA-FSH.
He was selected from among five “Sailor of the Year,” the top performers from NMETLC’s four echelon 4 commands and the flag headquarters command.
Master Chief Petty Officer Tony Guzman NMTSC sen- ior enlisted adviser (SEA), said Graham was selected in part for his versatility, leadership and strategic planning abilities.
LIVE OAK, Texas --- Land O’ Lakes, native Chief Petty Officer Michael Neubauer (second from left), the marketing and adver- tising officer of Navy Recruiting District (NRD) San Antonio was recognized as the “Officer Recruiter of the Year” and “Diversity Of- ficer Recruiter of the Year” for the NRD during an awards banquet held at the Hilton Garden Inn-Live Oak. Neubauer is a 1993 grad- uate of Land O’ Lakes High School and joined the Navy in 1995 as a gas turbine systems technician mechanic.
Additionally, he was awarded the Navy and Marine Corps Com- mendation Medal and a presentation coin from USAA. Standing with Neubauer is (left to right) Cmdr.
