Two 16-Year-Olds Killed In
Woman Who Hit Crossing Guard Arrested Again
Separate Shootings
Less than a week after her arrest for allegedly punching a 70-year-old school crossing guard, a woman is back in jail, this time charged with in- timidating her.
Kierra Harris, 28, of Lakeland, got into a fight with the Combee Elementary School guard on March 6th. She had dropped her son off at the school and sat in her car to watch him cross the street, deputies said.
Deputies said Harris was yelling at her son to cross the street when the crossing guard told him to wait.
Deputies said Harris got out of her car cursing, walked up to the guard and punched her in the chest. She was ar- rested and charged with bat- tery on a person older than 65.
Harris was released from jail on a $5,000 bond two days later with an order to stay at least 500 feet away from the crossing guard and the school.
On Thursday, the crossing guard saw Harris dropping her son off for the first time since the arrest. Harris parked her car and walked to- ward the crosswalk the guard was supervising, deputies said.
Tampa Police detectives are investigating two sepa- rate shootings Saturday that left a pair of 16-year-olds dead.
The first shooting oc- curred at 5:50 p. m. in the 8000 block of 17th Street in Sulphur Springs.
According to a witness, Ikeim Bobby Boswell and one of his friends were play- ing with a gun when it went off and struck Boswell in the throat. He was pro- nounced dead at the scene.
Police questioned three people who witnessed the shooting, and reported that the teenager had pulled the clip out of the gun thinking it was unloaded when he started playing with it and pointing it. He pulled the trigger and the gun went off.

According to the Hills- borough County Medical Ex- aminer’s Office, no funeral home had been selected for either teenager at press time.
KIERRA HARRIS
A vice principal at Combee saw Harris approaching and stepped into the road and took the guard’s hand-held stop sign from her. Harris crossed the street with her son said goodbye to him, and turned to go back to her car, deputies said.
Harris walked up to the crossing guard and stood less than a foot away from her, staring her down for a few seconds. She said nothing.
Harris then reportedly walked up to the vice princi- pal, looked at his name tag, and said he was one of the people who told on her. She was charged with threatening violence, tampering in a third-degree felony proceed- ing, and violating the terms of her release.
Man Arrested After Crashing Into Police Car
A 66-year-old man was arrested and charged after he crashed into a police car. The accident occurred Sunday af- ternoon at Gulf Blvd., and 75th Avenue.
The Major Accident In- vestigation Team of the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Of- fice is conducting the inves- tigation. Officials said no serious injuries occurred as a result 0f the accident.
According to investiga- tors, Sgt. Paul Langlais observed the driver of a 2010 Harley Davidson motorcycle driving erratically in the 6500 block of Gulf Blvd. Sgt. Langlais attempted to con- duct a traffic stop.
However, police said, the driver of the motorcycle did not stop and instead acceler- ated, continuing in a north- bound direction on Gulf Blvd. At that point, Sgt. Langlais reportedly turned his lights and siren off and did not pursue the motorcy- cle.
Deputy Michael Tav- ernier was responding to Sgt. Langlais’ radio call and was approaching Gulf Blvd., from 75th Avenue. As
The driver of the motor- cycle, identified as Mark A. Spafford, was transported to Bayfront Medical Center, where he was treated for minor injuries. Deputies said Spafford displayed signs of impairment and was unco- operative with hospital staff, causing a disruption in the Emergency Room.

MARK SPAFFORD ... Charged with DUI
Deputy Tavernier had his siren and emergency lights on and was clearing the in- tersection.
Deputy Tavernier ob- served the motorcycle quickly change lanes as he attempted to pull over to the curb at the intersection. The driver was attempting to make a right turn, police said.
But instead of making the turn, the driver locked up the front brake of the motorcy- cle, causing him to lose con- trol. The motorcycle fell to its side and slid into the right side of the bumper of Deputy Tavernier’s police vehicle.
An Iowa woman suffering stomach pains earlier this week, who decided to take a shower to ease her discom- fort, ended up with a newborn baby.
Brittany Young, 24, told the Des Moines Register that she knew she was pregnant and had recurring stomach pains Wednesday. However, Young could have misinter- preted a hospital worker in December when the person told Young that she had 12 weeks left of her pregnancy rather than being 12 weeks pregnant.
"I got in the shower, not even five minutes after that, I was like, my stomach is still hurting. Not even five seconds (later), I had to push," Young said. Soon after, her daughter, Miracle, arrived, weighing 6 pounds, 8 ounces.
"This baby's eyes were open; she was just sitting there staring at me," Young said. "She didn't cry or any- thing. I was in shock. I was like, there's a baby here."
Soon after Miracle ar- rived, Young asked her

friend to call an ambulance. Police found Young’s friend holding the infant and Young was in the shower. Both Young and Miracle were taken to the hospital.
"I've been in shock for the last couple of days, because I didn't expect a full-term baby," Young told the news- paper, adding that she didn't have clothing or diapers ready. She had gone to the hospital in January, found out she was pregnant and was told "12 weeks" by a techni- cian. She says she likely mis- understood.
Young has tattoos with the names of her three kids and says Miracle will be added.
