   Senior Connection Center Hosts 3rd Garden Box Demonstration
 Last month, members of the Senior Connection Cen- ter hosted its 3rd Garden Box Demonstration. The event took place at Fair Oaks Park on October 25th.

Program Coordinator said, “in partnership with East Tampa Community Revital- ization Program (ETCRP) we have provided workshops to combat chronic conditions with seniors through the City of Tampa Parks and Recre- ation Senior programs. The programs are housed at Cyrus Greene, Fair Oaks, Ragan, and Williams Parks; Lee Davis Senior Activity and Nutrition Center; and other sites, Pearlena's Adult Activity Center and Accord Medical Group.”
Seniors who completed the Living Healthy workshop to combat chronic conditions and attended the Living Healthy In Your Community Support Groups earned a garden box.
Farmer Bob Whisenant, Earthbox, El- lenton, Florida demon- strated how to plant and care for their garden boxes. Sen- iors choose from a variety of plants: tomatoes, mustard and turnip greens, kale, let- tuce and herbs.

Dianne Bennett-Fasion, Priscilla Stubbs, Josephine King, Syslin Miller, and Lula Powell took part in the event.
     Tina Clark, Martha Borntrager and Willie Jackson were among the attendees.
