  Local Rep. Shaw To Host Minority Transportation Forum Wednesday

On Wednesday, Novem- ber 29th, State Rep. Sean Shaw will host a Minority Transportation Forum. The event will take place at the Children’s Board of Hillsbor- ough County, 1002 E. Palm Avenue, from 5:30 p.m. until 7:30 p.m.
“It is so important that my constituents have an ac- tive role in this process. Transportation improve- ments and transit innova- tions are coming to Tampa, and it is imperative that all residents are able to express their concerns, questions, and ideas,” Rep. Shaw said.
He continued, “It is my hope that this forum will be the spark that ignites the fire of future conservations be- tween transit partners and Tampa Bay residents.”
Those in attendance will have access to information regarding the future of trans- portation in the Tampa Bay Area. Several speakers repre-

senting various transporta- tion and transit entities are slated to appear. The speak- ers will provide insight and information regarding their specific roles in keeping the city moving.
Some of the speakers on the agenda include: Secre- tary David Gwynn, of the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT); Marco Sandusky, of HART; and Ms. Beth Alden, of MPO.
In addition, the attendees will also have the opportu-
nity to provide suggestions, voice their concerns, and seek clarity for any questions that they may have pertain- ing to the process.
The overall purpose of the event is to bring aware- ness to this topic and en- couragement to those who wish to become involved, Rep. Shaw stated.
A freshman State Repre- sentative, Rep. Shaw said he is excited to create a long lasting relationship between the people he represents and various leaders involved in the development of trans- portation in the Tampa Bay Area. He believes it is vital for everyone to have their voices heard and acknowl- edged through the entire process.
