MARTHA D. STEVENS ...President, Program Ministry
ANDREW TARVER ...Special Guest, Orlando

For the 4th year, First Baptist Church of Lincoln Gardens will host its Annual Mother’s Day Tea. It grew out of an idea Mrs. Martha Stevens envisioned after she attended a similar event.
Mrs. Stevens is the Chairperson of the Program Ministry at her church.
“I was searching for a way to bring our ladies together for a fellowship and to kick off our Women’s Ministry at First Baptist Church of Lin- coln Gardens,” she ex- plained. “One of my friends, Mary Neumier, invited me to a tea at her church in 2013. I thought, ‘this is it!’ I told her I was stealing her idea and taking it to another level.”
And that she did. Mrs. Stevens took the idea to the Program Ministry members and they agreed, even sug- gesting that they use the event as a fundraiser.

MARIE TARVER WHITE
In May, 2014, the first tea was held at First Baptist. “We had a table-decorating con- test and the ladies went all out. It was just beautiful,” she said.
In May of 2015, the min- istry presented “Hats by James,” from one of the for- mer Youth Choir members – James McCour. She added that he is currently doing well in his business venture.
Last year, May 2016, the ministry hosted Sister Cobb, the saxophonist, and also featured “Hats by James.”
“This year, 2017, we are excited to have Lady Marie Tarver White and “Hats by Marie” as our special guest. We’re looking for a sell-out crowd. We appreciate the support from everyone over the years,” Mrs. Stevens said.
The Mother’s Day Tea is being held on Saturday, May 13, 2017, 2-4 p. m. at First Baptist Church of Lincoln Gardens, 4025 W. Palmetto
