Our Sisters Our Friends To Host 14th Pre-Thanksgiving Feast
 BY GWEN HAYES Sentinel Editor
Mrs. Sheliah Young- blood has been in food service for well over 20 years. She and her husband operated the “Yel- low Food Bus” along 22nd St. and around the city.
She has retired from that type work, but has not retired from feeding people.
Each year, the organization she founded, Our Sisters Our Friends, hosts a Pre-Thanks- giving Feast and Program for the community. It’s all free!
Our Sisters Our Friends was incorporated 7 years ago, but Mrs. Youngblood says the organization has been dis- tributing free meals for several events, from Mother’s Day and
SHELIAH YOUNGBLOOD
Grandmother’s Day to Valen- tine’s Day Dinners.
The organization has served Pre-Thanksgiving Din- ners for the past 13 years. This 14th event will be held on Sun- day, November 12, 2017, 2-6 p. m., at the Barksdale Center,
1801 N. Lincoln Ave., Tampa (33606), behind MacFarlane Park. Although it’s a free event, Mrs. Youngblood says a small donation would be ap- preciated. “It’s not to pay us, it’s to cover the cost of ex- penses,” she said.
Mrs. Youngblood is also looking for volunteers. Anyone who’d like to assist with the event, or may need community service hours, can contact Mrs. Youngblood at (813) 965-5117, or Shirley Reese, (813) 863-8642, or Theresa Mitchell, (813) 753-0917. Volunteers will be needed from1p.m.to6:30p.m.
“We just want everyone to come out, fellowship and enjoy what we’ve planned for them,” she said.
