RAY WILLIAMS
MR. JOHN ASHLEY ALLEN
Mr. John Ashley Allen of Tampa passed away Thursday, October 4, 2018. Funeral serv- ices will be conducted Satur- day, October 13 at 11 a. m. at St. John Progressive Missionary Baptist Church, 2504 Chipco Street, with Reverend Dr. Bartholomew Banks, Pastor, officiating. Interment will fol- low in Rest Haven Memorial Park Cemetery.
Mr. John Ashley Allen was a native and lifelong resident of Tampa, Florida. He was ed- ucated in the public schools of Hillsborough County and was employed as a Supervisor for the City of Tampa Water De- partment retiring after 30 years of service.
He was preceded in death by: his parents, Robert and Lil- lie Rose Allen; brothers, James, Walter, Wayne and Rickey; sister, Carolyn; niece, Jacqueline; and grandnephew, Troy Russell, Jr.
He leaves to cherish his memory: his loving and de- voted wife, Sharon; children, Tracey Allen and Ashley Allen (Kattress); stepchildren, Re- gena Geathers and Marcus Geathers; sisters, Mary Mc- Clain (Robert) and Evelyn Allen; brothers, Robert L. Allen, Clarence Allen (Fran- cis), Michael Allen (Charlotte), and Dana Allen (Trudy); grandchildren, Tiana Green and Amani Allen; sisters-in- law, Elaine Mincey and Bar- bara Nelson (Earl); brother-in-law, Earl Mincey (Karen); and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
The remains will repose after 5 p. m. Friday, October 12 at Ray Williams Funeral Home, 301 N. Howard Avenue.

MR. PHILLIP LEONARD AUSTIN
Mr. Phillip Leonard Austin of Tampa passed away Sunday, October 7, 2018 at his home. Fu- neral services will be conducted Saturday, October 13 at 2 p. m. at Ray Williams Memorial Chapel, 301 N. Howard Avenue, with Bishop Sylvester Robinson, officiating. Interment will fol- low in Rest Haven Memorial Park Cemetery.
Mr. Phillip Austin was a na- tive of Daytona Beach, FL and a resident of Tampa for 47 years. He was educated in the public schools of Hillsborough County where he was a graduate of Chamberlain High School. Phillip furthered his education at Florida A & M University where he earned his Bachelor’s degree in Education. Phillip held several positions in the School District of Hillsborough County as an Educator and Counselor.
Mr. Austin accepted Christ at an early age at First Baptist Church of College Hill under the leadership of the late Reverend Henry Gordon, where he was an active member. He later moved his membership to the First Baptist Church of Progress Vil- lage under the leadership of the late Reverend Roosevelt Robin- son, Jr. During his membership there he was selected and or- dained as a Baptist Deacon. Phillip was active in a host of community organizations throughout the Tampa Bay com- munity. He served on the 1991 Super Bowl Task Force, 1992 United States Olympic Commit- tee for Barcelona, Spain; he was a very dedicated member of the Tampa chapter FAMU Alumni Association and he has also served with the Gourmet Gents Organization. Phillip also be- lieved in keeping his neighbor- hood clean.
He leaves to cherish his memory: his beloved son, Phillip “PJ” Austin, Jr.; loving mother, Mary Austin; four brothers, Archie Henderson (Anna Mouguel), Carlin Austin (Tangela), Johnny Austin, Jr. (Darlene), and Michael Austin (Lisa) of Clearwater, FL; three sisters, Joyce Bexley (Calvin), Lisa Dixon (Nawal) of Orlando, FL, and Helen Austin of Springhill, FL; four uncles and four aunts, all of Daytona Beach, FL; godson, Dwayne Sanders, Jr.; 13 nieces and nephews, along with countless other rela- tives and friends to include a few of his dedicated friends, Kenneth Norman, Reverend Tony Smith, Eric Brown, Willie Sellers and Theron Smith.
The remains will repose after 5 p. m. Friday, October 12 at Ray Williams Funeral Home.

MR. HAYWOOD ‘WOODY’ MILLER
Mr. Hayward “Woody” Miller of Tampa, FL, passed away Tuesday, October 2, 2018. Funeral Services will be con- ducted Saturday, October 13, at 2 p. m. at College Hill Church of God in Christ, 6414 N. 30th Street, Superintendent Charles Davis, Pastor, with Pastor Rod- ney Bandy, Pastor of Miracle Faith and Deliverance COGIC, officiating. Interment will fol- low in Rest Haven Memorial Park Cemetery.
Mr. Hayward “Woody” Miller was a native of Albany, Georgia and a resident of Tampa for 58 years. He last at- tended Middleton High School and was employed as a Tire Technician until retirement from Olin Mott Tire Service.
“Woody” was preceded in death by: his parents, Loney and Ruberta Miller; mother-in- law and father-in-law, Thelma and Willie Hopps; sister, Loney Miller; sister-in-law, Rosa Cooper; and brother-in-law, Willie “Vince” Hopps, Sr.

MR. GERALD PETERSON
God called His faithful ser- vant, Gerald Peterson home on Tuesday, October 2, 2018. Fu- neral services will be conducted Saturday, October 13th at 11 a. m. at New Hope Missionary Baptist Church, 3005 E. Ellicott St. with Reverend Larry J. Mouton, Jr., Pastor, officiating. Interment will follow in Rest Haven Me- morial Park Cemetery.
Gerald was born on August 25, 1941 to Ms. Aretha Peterson, the first of 6 siblings. Gerald at- tended the local schools of Hillsborough County, Tampa, FL, and was a graduate of Mid- dleton High School, Class of 1960. He furthered his educa- tion at Gibbs Junior College, where he graduated Cum Laude, receiving his Associates of Arts Degree and at the Uni- versity of South Florida, receiv- ing his Bachelor of Arts Degree in Sociology.
Gerald was employed with the State of Florida as a social worker for 20 plus years before retiring and he was a faithful member of New Hope Mission- ary Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by: his loving mother, Aretha Peterson Wiggins (Jake, step- father); uncles, Booker T. Pe- terson, Hannie Sneed and Alfred Peterson; aunts, Hannah Wedlaw and Florida Sneed; and nephew, Rodney Peterson, Jr.

MS. GLADYS PUGH
Ms. Gladys Pugh of Tampa passed away Saturday, October 6, 2018. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, October 13 at 2 p. m. at Beulah Baptist Insti- tutional Church, 1006 W. Cy- press Street, with Dr. W. James Favorite, Pastor, officiating. In- terment will follow in Rest Haven Memorial Park Cemetery.
Ms. Gladys Pugh was a native of Grovehill, Alabama and a res- ident of Tampa for 62 years. She was educated in the public schools of Hillsborough County and was a member of Beulah Baptist Institutional Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Phillip and Nell Pugh; and brother, O’Neal Edgar.
