 Man Jailed In April
Man Who Led Police On Chase Facing Several Charges

A 44-year-old man is fac- ing several charges after lead- ing police on a chase. The incident began in the 900 block of Harbor Bay Dr.
According to the Tampa Police Department, the victim was working near downtown Tampa at a con- struction site, when the suspect, jumped into the vic- tim’s van and drove away. The victim flagged down a passerby and asked if he could borrow their phone to call 9-1-1.
The passerby told the vic- tim to get in the vehicle so they could follow the stolen van, while the victim dialed 911.
The suspect reportedly re- alized that he was being fol- lowed and put the van in reverse, and backed up into the good Samaritan’s car.
Police officers observed the van on East Adamo Dr. and followed it. Air service was alerted and kept a visual on the van as the sus- pect drove through several counties. When he returned to Hillsborough County, he was taken into custody near State Road 60 and Memorial Highway.
The suspect has been identified as Damian Cawvey. He has been charged with armed burglary of conveyance, grand theft motor vehicle, fleeing to elude, aggravated battery deadly weapon, driving with canceled, suspended, or re- voked license.
No injuries were reported. The case remains under in- vestigation.
Police Investigate Shooting Death
The shooting took place in the 2900 block of W. Abdella Monday night.
   Shooting That Left
1 Dead, 1 Injured
 A 27-year-old man has been arrested in connection with a shooting that took place in April of this year. The shooting left one person dead and another in critical condition.
According to the Hillsbor- ough County Sheriff’s Office, on April 2nd, around 11 p.m., deputies responded to the 9000 block of Windermere Lake Drive, in the Winder- mere Apartments, in Riverview.
Upon arrival, the deputies discovered two victims suf- fering from gunshot wounds. An adult male was pro- nounced dead at the scene. An adult female was trans- ported to a nearby hospital in critical, but stable condition.

Scott. Scott has been taken into custody and has been charged with first degree felony murder, attempted first degree felony murder, being a felon in possession of a firearm, and burglary of an occupied dwelling with bat- tery.

According to Tampa Po- lice, officers were dispatched to the location in reference to a disturbance. When they ar- rived, they discovered a 28-
year-old man inside a vehicle, apparently suffering from gunshot wounds. The victim was transported to a local hospital, where he died as a result of his injuries.
The person involved in the shooting remained at the scene and is cooperating with police. The investigation is continuing.
    Bicyclist Killed In Hit And Run Accident
The hit and run accident took place on N. 28th Avenue and E. 22nd Street Sunday. The victim later died.
Man Who ‘Tweeted’ Sexual
  Detectives with the Tampa Police Department are cur- rently investigating a hit and run accident that claimed the life of a bicyclist. The accident took place Sunday.
According to Tampa Po- lice, the victim was riding a bicycle westbound on 28th Av- enue and turned into an in- tersection on E. 22nd Street, where he was struck by a ve- hicle. The driver and passen- ger in the accident returned and interacted with the vic- tim. Then left the scene be-
fore EMS arrived.
The victim was trans-
ported to a local hospital, where he died as a result of his injuries.
The vehicle is described as a Nissan Altima gold or beige in color.

Earlier this week, U. S. District Judge Mary S. Scriven sentenced a 24- year-old man to 5 years in federal prison. The sentence is to be followed by 10 years of supervised release on re- lease, for distributing and possessing child pornogra- phy.

pleaded guilty on April 21, 2021.
According to court docu- ments, in June 2017, Browning created several Twitter accounts. On several different occasions, he posted or “tweeted” child sex abuse images and tagged other Twitter accounts associated with elected officials, media outlets, and public figures. Browning’s tweets also contained messages directed at the intended and tagged

recipients.
On June 18, 2017, law en-
forcement officers executed a search warrant at Brown- ing’s residence. The officers discovered more than 160 images and one video depict- ing the sexual abuse of chil- dren, including some as young as toddlers, located on Browning’s devices seized from his residence.
