‘Person Of Interest’ In
Detectives with the Tampa Police Department are currently searching for a “person of interest” in con- nection with a homicide that took place earlier this month.
According to police, 32- year-old Julius Carter was in the 3400 block of N. Phillips Street on the after- noon of July 3rd. Carter be- came engaged in an altercation with another indi- vidual that resulted in a phys- ical confrontation.
At some point, the person allegedly shot Carter several times. He ran after being shot, collapsed in the back- yard at 3408 N. Phillips Street, and died at the scene.
Witnesses told police the suspect fled the scene in a gray, 4-door vehicle. He is de- scribed as being a Black man, approximately 6 feet tall and weighing about 220 pounds.
Investigators said, it ap- pears Carter knew the sus- pect and that “he attempted to turn or walk away when he was shot.” Based on their in- vestigation, police have devel- oped a “person of interest” in the case. Police have identi-
