Man Charged With Setting House Fire
2 Charged With Auto Burglaries; Others Being Sought

Police have arrested two teenagers in connection with several automobile burglaries. They are continuing to search for two others.
According to the Hillsbor- ough County Sheriff’s Office, the burglaries took place dur- ing a 24-hour period. Last weekend, between 10 p.m. Fri- day and 9:45 a.m., Saturday, someone entered several vehi- cles in the Waterset subdivi- sion.
Surveillance video showed two Black males entering sev- eral unlocked cars. A dark-col- ored Nissan Altima followed them through the neighbor- hood.
While committing the bur- glaries, the suspects found keys to a black 2012 Hyundai Sonata, and drove off in the vehicle.
A short time later, some- one used the credit card that had been taken from one of the cars. The suspects bought a PlayStation game console from the Walmart, 4928 High- way 674, in Wimauma, police said.
Police arrested 16-year-old Andrew Wilson and Rod- ney McCall, 17, and charged both of them with 10 counts of burglary of a vehicle, 3 counts of grand theft of an automo- bile, 1 count of fraudulent use of a credit card, and 1 count of burglary of an occupied resi-

All three vehicles have
been recovered, police said. Two days later, on January 29th, two different Black males are said to have burglarized several vehicles in the 6700 block of Leeward Isle Way. They arrived at the location in an unknown type four-door
dark-colored vehicle.
At one location, the men

found the keys to a red, 2017 Kia Forte that was parked in the same driveway.
Those individuals have not been identified and the vehicle had not been recovered at press time.

A 26-year-old man was ar- rested Wednesday and charged with arson in connection with an East Tampa fire. Donke- vius Owens was booked into the Hillsborough County Jail without bond.
Tampa Fire Rescue re- sponded to a fire at 2006 E. 33rd Avenue Wednesday morn- ing. When firefighters arrived, they encountered heavy smoke and flames coming from the garage and roof of the single- story structure. The fire con- sumed about half of the home, officials said.
The fire was brought under control around 9:45 a.m. Four adults and two children live at the residence, but no injuries were reported.
Officials determined the fire was caused when a sofa in the garage was set afire. Inves- tigators said the fire was not accidental. Owens was at the scene at the time of the fire and was arrested.
Students at Young Middle Magnet School were moved to a different location on the cam- pus as a result of the smoke caused by fire, officials said.

from gunshot murder wounds.
The victims have been identified as Ms. Juanita D. Solorzano, 33, and 24-year- old Alexis Martinez, who listed the address as his resi- dence.
Detectives investigating the case have arrested Ms. Samona Louise Ramey, of Wimauma, and charged her
with two counts of first-degree murder. She is being held at the Hills- borough County Jail without bond.

seed in a video to determine if he had any involvement in the case. The man’s race has not been determined. He is de- scribed as being 6’ to 6’3” tall and weighs between 200 and 230 pounds. The Winter Haven Police de- partment has arrested a second man in connection with an armed robbery. He was taken into custody Monday.
According to police, the vic- tim was alone with her toddler at Kiwanis Park, 301 Avenue C, NE, in Winter Haven last Thursday, around 10 a.m.
The woman told police she saw two Black males wearing hoodies approaching her from different directions. She felt un- easy, picked up her child and started towards her vehicle.
As she approached the car, both men walked behind her and one said, “Give me your money or I’ll shoot.” The woman told police that she felt something in the middle of her back and the man wearing gym shorts punched her in the right side of the face. She fell to the ground, still holding her child. The child was not injured, police said.
While she was still on the ground, the man who had punched her grabbed her purse from around her neck and both men ran away. She ran to a busi- ness and called police.

Haines, 19, of Winter Haven. He was also observed on surveil- lance video using the victim’s bank card, police said.
As the investigation contin- ued, police obtained information that 18-year-old Delshawn Bradshaw. Bradshaw has been charged with robbery. He was booked into the Polk County Jail.
Police said within 45 min- utes after the robbery, the vic- tim’s bank card was used at a CVS Store in Auburndale. A short time later, the card was used at an Ace Wireless, where two cell phones were purchased.
As a result of their investiga- tion, police arrested nineteen- year-old Marques Jarvelle Haines, of Winter Haven. He was identified as the man who punched the victim and took her purse.

Police said last Saturday, around 2 p.m., the victim’s wife heard popping noises and went to investigate. She found her 32-year-old husband in the al- leyway in the back of their home. Washington was transported to a local hospital, where he later died.
The investigation into the deadly shooting is continuing.
