Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc. Grand Conclave Coming To Tampa July, 2020

The Pi Iota Basileus is Albert Lee; the Epsilon Mu Mu Basileus is Adam Watts; the Eta Rho Basileus is James Jackson; the Up- silon Xi Basileus is Cor- nelius Wallace; and the Pi Beta Beta Basileus is Charles Whitfield.
It is anticipated that this will be the largest Conclave in the history of the Frater- nity.

ternity was founded on No- vember 17, 1911, on the cam- pus of Howard University in Washington, D. C. The founders were three under- graduates: Edgar Amos Love, Oscar James Cooper and Frank Cole- man. Joining them was their faculty adviser, Ernest Everett Just. The Frater- nity’s motto is, "Friendship is Essential to the Soul," and its cardinal, or guiding, princi- ples are Manhood, Scholar- ship, Perseverance and Uplift.
The Omega Psi Phi Fra- ternity, Inc., is comprised of men who began their careers in college, but who have gone on to increase their educa- tion in various academic fields and professions. In fact, there are many notable Omega Men recognized as leaders in the arts, the sci- ences, academics, athletics, businesses, civil rights, edu- cation, government, and sci- ence sectors at the local, national, and international levels.
The Omega Psi Phi Fra- ternity, Inc., a racially diverse organization, attracts men of similar ideals and character- istics who seek to maintain its cardinal principles and impact communities through educational promotion, the awarding of high school scholarships, social better- ment programs, youth talent identification programs, youth leadership confer- ences, literacy improvement programs, and male mentor- ing programs ---just to name a few.
In short, the Omega Psi Fraternity, Inc. is a collection of professional men seeking to do its part by impacting lives in America and interna- tionally. As a result, through- out the United States and the world, the Omega Psi Phi Fraternity has many gradu- ate and undergraduate chap- ters, all of which seek to accomplish the foregoing. It is at the Grand Conclave meeting where Omega mem- bers gather to discuss the business affairs of the Frater- nity, plan for its future, cul- minate and recognize its achievements through the collective efforts of numer- ous chapters, and leave an economic impact on the host city.
Further, during the Grand Conclave some of the antici- pated events include: a golf tournament, a deep sea fish- ing tournament, a youth leadership conference at the University of South Florida, a shopping excursions for wives/girlfriends, discounted tickets to surrounding family and children attractions, Fra- ternity picnic, daily happy hours, a march down (step- show) competition, the Triple Header and Purple Linen parties, and other events.
Omega Psi Phi Fraternity seeks the community support during this time. Also, those who would like to make a do- nation towards these events can do so through the Pi Iota Education Foundation, a 501(c)(3) organization. For further information please visit www.piiota.org.
The Omega Psi Phi Fra- ternity, Inc., will hold its na- tional meeting, the Grand Conclave, in Tampa, from July 17-21, 2020.
The Fraternity members in the Tampa Bay area, to in- clude Tampa Graduate Chap- ters (Pi Iota and Epsilon Mu Mu), St. Petersburg (Eta Rho), Lakeland (Upsilon Xi), and Bradenton (Pi Beta Beta), have been working very diligently for several years to bring the Grand
Conclave meeting to the Tampa Bay area and made history by securing this event.
The 2020 Grand Conclave will not only be the first time the meeting will be held in Tampa, but it will also be the first time in history that an African-American Greek-let- tered organization (“The Di- vine Nine”) has ever held its national meeting in Tampa.
