National Council Of Negro Women Bethune-Height Luncheon
The Tampa Metropolitan Section of the National Council of Negro Women held its 46th Annual Bethune-Height Luncheon at the Embassy Suites by Hilton. The fundraising event honors two of the organization’s outstanding women – Dr. Mary McLeod Bethune and Dr. Dorothy Height. Proceeds from the luncheon are used to present scholarships to deserving students.
`The theme for this year was “Fortified by the Past...Focused on the Future.”

President Smith presented the Community Service Award to Harriet Scott.
VP Greenway and Pres. Smith presented the Community Service Award to Life Legacy Member, Lucille Morris.
Some members of the Tampa Metropolitan Section of the National Council of Negro Women in attendance at the 46th Annual Luncheon were: sitting, Sandra Hill; standing, Mildred Harvey, President Colleen Smith, Tee Solomon, Rosalie Jones (Vice President), Brenda Greenway, Luncheon Chairperson; Chloe Coney, guest speaker; Sylvia Lee, Doris Scott, and Audrey Miller.
Alumni of Bethune-Cookman University in attendance to support member Lucille Morris, standing, were from left, seated: Jackie Grant, Dr. Davina Jones, Birdie Underwood and Mol- bert Scrivens.
NCNW member, Lucille Franklin and her niece, Phyllis Niles were among the luncheon guests.
The organization presented a Community Service Award to Dayle Greene.
Students who received the Electa Davis Scholar- ship were: Luz Romrie, Tamara Mills and Ariel Valez- Smith. They’re shown with President Smith and JoAnn Harris, who presented the scholarships.
