Washington Hires Jason Wright, Making Him The NFL's First Black Team President
JASON WRIGHT
The Washington Football Team on Monday named for- mer NFL player Jason Wright to be its new president, making him the league's first Black team president. The announcement comes after the team removed its Redskins name and branding and reports of sexual harass- ment accusations by former em- ployees this summer.
Wright spent seven years as a running back in the NFL, play- ing for the San Francisco 49ers, Atlanta Falcons, Cleveland Browns and Arizona Cardinals. After retiring from the league, he went on to get his M.B.A. and worked at global consulting firm McKinsey & Company. He said in a statement that the post is an "ideal opportunity for me."
"The transformation of the Washington Football Team is happening across all aspects of the organization – from football to operations to branding to cul- ture – and will make us a truly modern and aspirational fran- chise," Wright said. "We want to set new standards for the NFL."

Tiger Woods Jealous As Son Charlie Dominates
Second suspect arrested in the 2002 killing of hip hop leg- end Jam Master Jay was or- dered held in federal custody Tuesday, as prosecutors ar- gued he was responsible for the murder — despite not pulling the trigger in the killing.
Ronald Washington, 56, pleaded not guilty at his ar- raignment in Brooklyn federal court for allegedly working with Karl Jordan, Jr. to gun down the DJ, real name Jason Mizell, in a Queens music stu- dio on Oct. 30, 2002.
At the hearing, federal pros- ecutor Artie McConnell urged a judge to order Wash- ington be held in custody, ar- guing he has a lengthy rap sheet that includes violent crimes.
He added that even though Washington is not suspected of being the gunman in Mizell’s slaying, he is just as responsible for the killing as Jordan.
“Even though Mr. Wash- ington did not pull the trigger he is equally responsible for the murder of Mr. Mizell as his co-conspirator,” Mc- Connell said.
McConnell added that the pair gunned down a “music icon” in his own studio in a brazen hit that should warrant him being held behind bars.
Washington is already locked up, serving time for a string of robberies, and is not set for release until 2022, his lawyer said at the hearing.
JAM MASTER JAY Washington and Jordan
allegedly killed Mizell over a drug deal gone bad.
“[In] July 2002, Mizell ac- quired approximately ten kilo- grams of cocaine on consignment from a supplier in the Midwest. The cocaine was intended to be distributed in Maryland by Washington, Jordan and other co-conspir- ators,” feds charged in court papers.
“A dispute between Wash- ington and one of the co-con- spirators resulted in Mizell telling Washington that he would be cut out of the Mary- land transaction.
“Following Washington’s dispute with Mizell, Wash- ington and Jordan conspired to murder Mizell.”
After news of the busts s p r e a d Monday, Mizell’s friends — including former Run-DMC member Darryl McDaniels — said they were relieved by the arrests.

Tiger Woods
had better watch his back — Charlie Woods may be coming for his old man on the golf course.
Tiger’s 11-
year-old son,
Charlie, won a
US Kids Golf-sanctioned event in Florida last week, shooting a 3- under 33 with three birdies and no bogeys to win by five strokes in the nine-hole tournament.
“He’s starting to get into it,” Tiger recently told GolfTV. “He’s starting to understand how to play. He’s asking me the right questions. I’ve kept it competitive with his par, so it’s been just an absolute blast to go out there and just, you know, be with him. It re- minds me so much of me and my dad growing up.”
