If you have questions about the state of Medical Marijuana in Florida, then attending a forum on next Thursday is the place you need to be.
The Medical Marijuana Education and Research Ini- tiative at Florida A&M Uni- versity is hosting a Community Forum at Saun- ders Library, 1505 N Ne- braska Ave, Tampa, FL 33602.
The event will be held on Thursday, December 19 at 6 p.m.-8 p.m.
MMERI Interim Execu- tive Director Patricia Green-Powell, Ph.D. says, “these community forums are very important to us be- cause it is our opportunity to speak directly to the public, in person. We want everyone to know the forum is their

opportunity to talk directly to those persons who are im- portant in the medical mari- juana ecosystem: pastors, doctors, pharmacists, legisla- tors, law enforcement and legal professionals."
We hope everyone will come out and participate in the conversation”.
The Forum is free and open to the public.
Featured on the panel will be a physician, pharmacist, pastor, state legislator and members of law enforce- ment.
In the United States, the use of cannabis for medical purposes is legal in 33 states, four (out of five) permanently
inhabited U.S. territories, and the District of Columbia, as of January 2019.
Fourteen other states have more restrictive laws limiting THC content, for the purpose of allowing access to products that are rich in cannabidiol (CBD), a non- psychoactive component of cannabis.
There is considerable variation in medical cannabis laws from state to state, in- cluding how it is produced and distributed, how it can be consumed, and what medical conditions it can be used for.
Come out and ask and get your questions an- swered by the panelists.
