Can You Forgive?
Good Things Happen When You Love Yourself
I t looks like the world is fi- nally catching up to what most of us have known
all along. When it comes to true stunning beauty, noth- ing compares to a gorgeous Black woman.
We saw evidence of this ear- lier this year with the titles of Miss America, Miss USA and Miss Teen USA all going to Black women.
And now, with another chocolate sister taking the ul- timate prize by winning the Miss Universe competition, it appears that the entire planet
is finally taking notice of what's commonly referred to as "Black Girl Magic."
To me the most amazing thing about what transpired last Sunday night is that the new Miss Universe, 26-year- old Zozibini Tunzi, from South Africa, accomplished the feat by presenting her natural self.
No chemical perms, no hair extensions, no wig, no skin bleaching, no lip fillers or butt injections, just the dark brown skin, tightly curled locks and slender frame in
which the Creator wrapped her.
In her victory Tunzi proved that a Black woman doesn't have to mutilate her looks, or spend thousands of dollars to wear the tresses that were cut from the scalps of women from other races, in order to be considered alluring.
All she really has to have is the self-awareness to realize that the unique DNA traits she inherited from her ances- tors are good enough. Hopefully, after witnessing this historic display of Black female confidence and real- ness, more Black women will follow her example by be- coming equally comfortable in their own hair and skin as well.

Empowered Greetings.
“Shut up and show up” is the advice that I am giving you as you prepare to embark on 2020, a year of vision, laser focus and insurmountable success. Twenty Nineteen is in the books, it is over. If you have not achieved the level of success you dreamed of, or desired for this year, then it is imperative that you shut up and show up.
Shut up the voice of doubt. Shut up the thoughts of disbe- lief. Shut up the excuses. Shut up the irrational reasoning. Shut up any notions of lack or insuffi- ciency.
As you shut up, allow the faith you have in your success to go up and show up in everything you do and say. Begin to live in a realm where success is not just
an option, but it is the only op- tion.
When you allow yourself to mentally, live in a place of suc- cess, then success will live on the inside of you. When you wake up, allow success to show up in the forefront of your mind. When you eat, success will show up in every bite. When you swal- low, you’re digesting success. When you walk, success will show up in every step you make. When you breathe, success will show up in every breath you take. Wherever you show up, success will show up, too.
Shut up doubt to kick off the New Year bigger, better and stronger than ever.
Allow 2020 to be your year of success. It starts here and it starts now! Success is waiting for you to show up. If you want suc- cess bad enough, you will do what it takes to get it. Until next time, shut up and go show up in your success.
For a complimentary Busi-
Many of us wonder how the relatives of mur- der victims and victims of other violent crimes, find the strength to forgive the people who have harmed their family members.
Yet, time after time, we see the loved ones of the victims stand in our courts and churches of- fering forgiveness.
To forgive, is one of the most important acts you will ever do in your lifetime.
There are many verses in the Bible, Koran, and the Torah that state forgiveness is God's command.
The term “forgiveness” is mentioned at least one hundred times in the Bible (Psalms, Eph- esians, First Timothy, etc.).
In the Koran, forgiveness is found in numerous chapters at least two hundred times.
In the Torah forgiveness is a major subject, as well. Jewish Law requires you ask those you have harmed for forgiveness three times, whether the harm was physical, financial, emo- tional, or social. Jewish people are also required to be gracious in granting forgiveness.
Dr. Martin Luther King says, ‘we must de- velop and maintain the capacity to forgive. He who is devoid of the power to forgive is devoid of the power to love. There is some good in the worst of us and some evil in the best of us. When we discover this, we are less prone to hate our enemies.”
Most importantly, is that offering forgiveness does not mean the person who is forgiven gets to repeat their hurtful behavior a second time.
The Christmas Season is the perfect time to call or talk to the relative, friend, or colleague you should forgive or offer forgiveness to. You will feel the release of the burden you’ve been carrying and can face the New Year as a new you.
